My order has been submitted.

Looking forward to the days of being able to anchor out on Isla San Jose while kicking back drinking Pacifico's and watching college football games.

The question is, will Starlink have enough satellites up by Oct. 28?

They started up North and so far only cover Canada and the northern part of the US. This has taken a year.

I probably won't be getting Starlink for two reasons. Besides being a cheapskate (main reason), I just don't need, or want, to be that connected while I am exploring Baja! Intermittent phone service, and occasional WIFI is fine for me.

For those of you interested in using it for your RV or boat, you should watch this video. It was posted in mid March, which is ancient news in the Starlink community, but it is fifteen minutes of worthwhile consideration!

I think it has a lot to do with how much time you plan to spend in Baja. If you are on a vacation for a week or two, using local WiFi is probably good enough. But if you plan to spend the winter down there things look a bit different.

We use the internet for a lot of things during the winter that would never be needed on a vacation. One example is "How do I fix a Toyota FJ Cruiser that has been rolled and the engine will not turn over?" Much of the information I found was in video form. Using cell phone internet or slow WiFi made the job much harder than if a fast internet connection had been available. We did get it fixed and it powered its self from La Paz back to the US.

I use the internet for fixing things a lot and if there was one thing I would like to tell people who are posting answers it would be, please give me a text answer as well as your long video. I will choose the text answer every time in Baja as the video will probably not complete.

wiltonh, I concur with everything you said! I hope the roll out of the system is a success, because although I am fine without it at this point in my life, if things change and I need it, I hope that will be a workable option.
