yes they are going to put a new walmart and Costco in Mulege next year. some people are fighting it but it looks like a done deal. if you have the
bucks you can do anything you want in Mexico.

Here in San Felipe, the local grocery stores - no big chains like Leys or Gigantica - almost all have Kirland products on their shelves. It's is very
few of the local Mexicans who can go to Mexicali to Costco. The local grocers find the products and prices at Costco - Sams etc competitave with the
suppliers they were forced to use prior to Costco. I see a fair precentage of the shoppers at Costco filling flatbeds with products to stock stores
and small resturants in their communities. We have to remember that the poorer locals do not have Costco or Sam's cards, nor the transportation or
money to stock up in the quatities they make you buy. The new Mega stores in Mexicali constantly compare and underprice Walmart in Mexicali. I don't
see these stores as total destruction of the small stores. True, Americans buy there, but how many Americans are buying anything at the small tienda
in a commmunity anyway. It apears to me that they have just given the small Mexican stores more choices in thier purchases.

For them to be able to dominate and eclipse other businesses, they are going to need to lower costs wherever possible. Maybe they can import Chinese
illegal immigrants into Mexico.

To tell the truth, it didn't seem so improbable as to be so outrageous. I didn't see any reason to doubt that it wasn't really going to happen.
I thought it was meant that the whole thread was an April Fools joke.

I thought you had been drinking to much tequila . Mulege doesn't even have enough people to support a bank let alone anything else. I don't think you
