I am a lucky person! I am freelance so I can plan my trip adapting to the best moment to go to Baja Californa.
I have already been in Mexico but this time the main reason to go is to do some amazing diving in Baja California (I already know Cozumel, and that
part of Mexico)
My idea is to go in November but I could go even in December or Jannuary.
All I really want is to see whale sharks, hammerhead sharks, manta rays, Elephant Seals.... big stuff!
any tips about timings and places?
i want to buy the flight tickets soon!SFandH - 9-26-2021 at 09:00 AM
Sounds like La Paz is where you want to go and stay.
Of those three months, I would pick November. Warmer, fewer tourists.

Go in early November. Water and air temps will be perfect.
Loreto and La Paz are the best spots to be out on the water. The furthest island in the La Paz area has a big sea lion colony.
From La Paz you can also drive 2hrs to San Evaristo. From there you can have a panga take you out to the local islands. They are spectacular. advrider - 9-26-2021 at 05:24 PM
All the advise you need above, got time and places all covered. Enjoy and report back, please.. motoged - 9-26-2021 at 08:39 PM
Well, at first I assumed the poster was going to be promoting something.
The "big stuff"comment is a bit weird....kinda sounded a bit like ZJ talking about his stuff.JZ - 9-26-2021 at 09:51 PM
Back to the op. I've spent a bunch of time on the water from Loreto to La Paz.
Let me know if you have specific questions. Feel free to PM me. I have a lot of way points and have visited most of the islands several times. I'm
not a diver though.
We are actually doing a boating trip from Loreto to La Paz in November. Spending about 6 days on the water.
From La Paz you can also drive 2hrs to San Evaristo. From there you can have a panga take you out to the local islands.
San Evaristo provides nearby access via boat to Isla San Jose, Isla San Francisco, and perhaps Isla Coyote.
Private boat/panga is available for hire to Isla Ispiritu Santo, Isla Partida and/or to Los Islotes sea lion colony at Playa Tecolote (much easier to
get to than San Evaristo fwiw).

It's more disturbing when somebody starts several threads within a few days, ranging from an impossibly big problem - car fuel gauge not working (mind
you, she never got farther than San Quintin) to suddenly deciding to move to Mexico and asking to tell her quickly how to get a PR (this is at 6am on
the day 2 of her first Baja trip ever). Never re-visited a thread. My impression has been that she was starting a new thread because forgot about the
threads that she had started the day before. fallenonearth - 10-11-2021 at 03:01 AM

November for the win. Just be aware the Baja 1000 race is going down to La Paz this year so it could be pretty busy. David K - 10-11-2021 at 04:16 PM

I think most traffic issues will be just on Nov. 18 & 19 (racing days), but yes, it is a BIG DEAL in Baja! No rooms available at towns along the
race course and long lines getting fuel, or returning over the border, on the 20th-21st.

You want big stuff? If this is your only trip to Baja CA, then see the grey whales in January. three places to do so. There are seals to see in
Asuncion which is near Scammons Lagoon. There are shark trips out of San Felipe. Not sure, but I think there is a greater prevalence of manta rays
in warmer waters (June-Oct ??), You should check with the tour operators in La Paz on that. Best snorkling on the islands off La Paz. You should
prioritize the "must dos", and plan your route accordingly. BajaTed - 10-13-2021 at 08:08 AM
Rainbow people travel Baja in November and around the world all the time.
The ones I've met were very travel savvy, maybe you'll meet up with some.
