Anyone know if they are selling fireworks in Ensenada right now?

JZ - 10-19-2021 at 08:16 PM

Going through soon and would like to pick up some bottle rockets.

Also, curious if the place just North of San Felipe is still open after all the Covid stuff?

I hope not

Nothing more annoying than camping near drunks shooting off fireworks, when not making noise/dust with their motorcycles :barf:

Everyday until I believe 10 PM. Santana has even remodeled with a new trailer. Haven't been in in a while but the gate is open daily.

Just curious, do you pick up the litter once you're done?

You don't actually go to Baja, so I'll take your (negative) comments with a big grain of salt.

Hey goat. First he will start a huge fire in the clean sand leaving a charcoal mess then he will annoy everybody close by with his other fire antics. Gawd. We don’t need any jizzes in our Baja.

Maybe the blame should go to state that allows sales of fireworks? It's legal... like cigarettes, just not a always good thing, beyond a few minutes of providing entertainment. Please use them on a deserted location not near other campers or homes. I am sure your pretty dog is not happy when they go off, either.

They are fun when you're young as long as you don't blow off a finger or two! In the 60s my parents bought me some. They told me stories of their youth. In the 00s, I bought my kids some and told them my stories. Tradition and culture are good to carry on, but be respectful of others and their right to peace and quiet.

Bottle rockets are probably the most likely incendiary to start a wildfire by "accident". Seen them go wildly off course many, many times over the years. Not to mention the litter of stick and spent rocket casings littering the "deserted" location some advise for use. I grew up using firecrackers, bottle rockets, M80s, gasoline, and the like. Plus making my own gunpowder fueled incendiaries (Thank you, "Steal This Book!") in my youth.

Bottle rockets are not a wise choice. Astronomy might be a better choice for the skies of Baja.

Dog isn't afraid of them, he grew up with them as a pup. This 4th of July fireworks went off right behind our house this year. He looked up in the ski and watched some. Now thunder, he heard that for the first time last month and didn't like it.

Of course we let them off in the middle of nowhere. A lot of times from a boat. Hearing the echo over the water is crazy.

The Mexican people love fireworks and things that go boom! Thats why they are legal and sold everywhere. The gringos that complain dont seem to appreciate what the Mexican people enjoy so much.

Yep. Every trip I do is with 2-3 MX friends living in Sonora or Loreto. Huge fun for them.

Plus my kids are teens and they love them. It's fun meeting other ppl with kids and letting them shoot a few off.

We shot them over the boats as they passed on an Xmas eve boat parade one year. Launched them from the anchor pulpit in PVC pipes.

When Rancho Pescadero celebrates weddings, fireworks shake the ground when I'm sleeping. I run outside to see the sky light up. Love the noise and lights. Bigger the better. Loud isn't loud enough.

Remember cases of M80s and Cherry Bombs growing up. That's translated to putting couple hundred rounds down range weekly with my new Glock 19. Such a sweet firearm.

"From a boat" isn't the middle of nowhere. In case you're not aware, it isn't the middle of nowhere to sea life, which I'm sure doesn't appreciate a bunch of yahoos who think you can't have fun without making a lot of noise invading their territory. But then, you wouldn't care about that. Nothing else seems to matter to you except doing whatever you like.

I was wondering how long before someone would claim you are killing turtles or vaquitas!

(just don't tell anyone on Nomad you threw out some illegal weed found in your car)

Surabi - The self-appointed protector of fish! Sounds about right...

I love her last line, "Nothing else seems to matter to you except doing whatever you like." JZ, have you ever considered devoting your life to doing things that Surabi likes? Me neither.

If you end up on that boat, fire off an extra case of fireworks for me ;)

mtgoat666 - 10-21-2021 at 11:36 AM

Shorty melonhead mcjizzy will be launching rockets from his little inflatable dinghy with Seagull outboard. Chances are that he will put on a spectacular fireworks show when his gas tank ignites and explosion shoots the flaming midget across the Loreto sky.

Hopefully jizzy records the spectacle with his video drone so we can watch the show on tiktok

Count me in. Get crazy JZ but be safe. You have MX in your blood.

If you've ever been to the Puget Sound for the 4th of July, you won't be sleeping that night. Fireworks start @ 11:00 pm just after sunset early summer.

We get a pallet of chi-comm fireworks and have a literal blast.

Fireworks are primal like a drum beat, some of us like it

Me thinks that the old saying " If it's too loud, you're too old"
is fitting here .....

Fireworks are quite scary for babies, animals, and people with dementia.

Does shorty melonhead mcjizzy hate babies, animals and seniors?

Bozos, Bangs and Booms

MrBillM - 10-21-2021 at 07:03 PM

As I've often said ............ "I believe in giving Fireworks Fanatics the benefit of the doubt and assume that they are just A.ssholes".

The alternative would be that they are retarded.

I have a brand new drone that is really good at taking night shots.

I'll film a few scenes that I think you and others will appreciate.

Most trips we travel with a half size version of the green rubber made garbage cans you'd find in a garage. Sometimes two of them if it's a local trip and friends are going.

there is a year round store in chapultepec (south of ensenada ). it is on the main road to estero beach on the right hand side of the road. the store is well marked signage. I do not know the street name but on the corner but where you turn off mex 1 towards the beach is a chicken rotisserie and gas station.
