Thanks for posting this David! I was looking forward to hanging one of these on my wall, but at nearly three times the price of the atlas, I think I will pass.

Nice!

Though personally I would prefer a tad more detail, and a lighter color on land.

David K - 11-1-2021 at 08:53 AM

I agree... :(

Who wants to save money by being the first person to cut up two benchmark atlases and paste them on their big wall?

I calculate it would take 9' x 14'

Printing big does cost money. For example if you printed a 40" x 50" custom poster on Zazzle.com, it would cost about $40. Theoretically you could get full-detail imagery of the Benchmark map using the Avenza PDF app.

¿¿$74.95 for this wall map?? Terrible!

I expressed my disappointment with the pricing... Just fyi.
Let them sit around their warehouse for a few weeks or months and maybe things will improve.

I like geoffff's idea of simply printing the Avenza one peninsula version of the Benchmark map, on a poster sheet?
I wonder how tall to be able to see details or names?

Or better that it divides into parts as a puzzle and we put it together ourselves

A high-quality print costs money.
The website does not say printing method - at that price, you are buying an art print, and they should be telling you print method as part of sales pitch.

Raven maps makes some great maps (they have a great wall map of Mexico), and you can look at their website for what to expect to pay for regular and art prints of maps.
Raven has cred, they make beautiful maps - I have never seen a benchmark map so would hesitate to pay that much w/o first seeing in person.

Goat, I have the Benchmark wall map... Since it was my suggestion to them from the very beginning to create one, they sent me an early version for my thoughts, and then, the final one (deeper coloring).
The poster paper is very heavy stock.
