Services at Santa Rosalillita

hombre66 - 1-1-2022 at 03:55 PM

Headed up the coast north of Santa Rosalillita for 2 to 3 weeks . Have not been thru it in maybe 10 years and curious about services. I know that its gradually grown a little bit, and I'm fairly sure theres reliable gas. Some recent Nomad visitors might report to me re: Grocery (eggs, meat, ice, some veg's)and.. possible lavamatica ! Thanks Headed in about 1/6

Don't think there is a laundry, but a woman washed my kid's jersey and pants after he laid the bike down in a huge puddle of mud.

She worked at the little motel. They have a small store.

The grocery market (Tecate sign) (and motel) at Santa Rosalillita. Gasoline for emergency needs is sold at the market and it is stored in a shed where I am taking the photo from.

Gasoline is for the needs of the people who live there not a typical Pemex. If you can't make it to Villa Jesus María Pemex, then they may sell you enough. I bought 5 gallons in 2017.

Here is what I wrote in my trip report:

In town, I asked someone for gasolina and I was pointed to the market/ motel 'Jessy'. The young lady said "No gasolina". I get that they want to not be in the habit of selling to tourists who may not really need any. I said I was very low and my light was on (it was). I was not sure if I could make it to Villa Jesus María, the closest Pemex gas station, 46 miles away. She consulted with someone inside the store and came out all smiles and directed me to the shed near the store. There, opened up, was dozens of 1-gallon bottles and plastic 20 liter (5.28 gallon) tanks full of gasoline... whatever I wanted! 20 liters would be fine, thank you. It was 400 pesos ($22.60) for the 20 liters. That was only an 80 cent/ gallon markup from the Pemex price, more than fair to have gasoline where it is needed!

My wish was to avoid back tracking to VJM. Perhaps with the 5 to 1 intersection pavement reality, theres a station now at Chapala? Thanks DK your exp takes so much of the guesswork out for us. Whats the extent of the grocery supply at Jessy?

Not yet reported as even been under construction... same with a new Pemex at the L.A. Bay junction (signed a few years ago). Just basic small town groceries. I didn't need anything other than gas, so I did not look too long.

Gasoline is also sold from cans, at Punta Prieta, at the market on the north side of town, west side of Hwy. 1 (just before the Km. 13 post).

Gasoline is also sold by one or two vendors out the back of their trucks, west side of Hwy. 1, at the abandoned parador/ gas station (Parador Punta Prieta/ L.A. Bay junction) Km. 0.
