With this new plan by the Mexican government to be able to convert non Mexican registered vehicles (such as South Dakota or California registration
and plates) has anyone had experience with any of the following.
With Nationalized plates: (not Baja plates)
1: Can you use your sentry pass once and if your vehicle has been approved?
2: Insurance in the states a problem?
3: Eventually converting a Mexican registered car back to a U.S. registered car?
4: Being hassled by the man NOB for short term stays in for example, California?
Being a Residente Permanente I cannot take my California plated car or RV to the mainland below Sonora and that is one of my goals for the new
registration, taking my RV or car to the mainland.
Anyone, anyone?

Only Item 2
Your Mexican insurance agent can sell you US coverage for a vehicle with any kind of tags. Check with the agent for the duration.
Might be a lot simpler to rent a car with National tags to drive in the mainland if your stay is short.
