The Los Angeles Times of February 4, 1915 recapped a 103-mile motorcar race that had taken place the day before on the streets of Glendale,
California.
A couple of days ago the Homestead Museum blog, written by historian and museum director Paul Spitzerri, told of the event in a blog post.
Why is it sort of Baja related? As you will see in the included images, one of the entrants was a fellow by the name of Huntley Gordon - grandfather
of Baja Bob Gordon, and great-grandfather of Robby. Racing blood runs in that family!
How did Huntley do in the race? This first image is from the above mentioned newspaper:

Still today, the area of the Huntley Gordon ranching operation is memorialized at Chino Hills Pkwy and Eucalyptus
