Was on the boat Thursday and go caught in some pretty thick fog. I have only experienced one other time here and it was a one day event. The last 3
days it has been foggy on the way to and around the islands and very wet in the mornings in town. The soup has not reached land, just out on the way
to the islands and around the islands. It burns off in the mid morning.

I've done more boating around Sonora than Baja. Saw fog maybe a half dozen times over 10 years. Don't think I've seen it in Baja yet on the SoC
side.
It's nothing like the Pacific though. In heavy fog on the Pacific you can hardly see the anchor on the bow. Have had to roll into the harbor many
times under just instruments. It's unnerving hearing the surf break on the shore but not being able to see it.
Pacific fog can also roll in fast. It can go from clear to dense in 15 mins.
Remember one day listening to a guy on the VHF radio calling the CG saying he couldn't see anything. That same day my main GPS went out, but luckily
I had read a couple books on boating when I was a newb, and they said to always have a backup GPS.

In November I spent a night in my car somewhere between Vizcaino and El Arco. A moderate fog formed overnight, and hung around for a couple of hours
in the morning.
A couple of years ago, the same thing happened while I was overnighting just east of San Ignacio, except it was pea soup fog and lasted a while
longer.

In the Sea of Cortez, fog is almost always created by a combination of warm. moist air coming up from the south meeting cool/cold water.
Often times, this comes about due to an upwelling of cold water from deep below the surface. Especially in the Midriff area or anywhere where islands
can deflect deep currents upward toward the surface. This is most common during large, spring tides where tidal movement can create these upwellings.
We have had a lot of fog along the Sonoran coast this year. Most humid April EVER, in my time here. The April showers have been in the casita, due to
pickleball and hiking in this miasma.

around 15 years ago there was an enormous fog bank barreling towards puertecitos that had the south campo's believing it had to be a tsunami, the
