BoLA Restaurants

I tried a search in the Restaurant Review page and came up empty. Its been nearly 10 years since I have been to BoLA. I'm heading down in 2 weeks to stretch a line and was looking for some restaurant recommendations.

Costa del sol does a pretty good breakfast.

Alejandrina's... turn east at the sailboat traffic circle... just a stone's throw away.

Las Hamacas was the previous hot spot.

The taco stand nearby, next to the Lizeth market, once run by 'China' and now her daughter' is excellent.

Costa del Sol has great soup, but do not order scallops off the menu.

The new web page from Mia is really nice: https://www.bahiadelosangeles.info/index.htm

Costa Del sol is very good, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, you can make requests a day or two ahead of time and they will make it happen.

The restaurant at Archelon’s camp is putting out some really good food!
There’s a taco stand next to Las Hamacas, can’t remember the name, just east of China’s place. They do a really good job.
Ask for the grilled shrimp quésitaco, not on the menu but outstanding!’
La Sirena bakery, on the way to La Gringa, for great pastries!

Guillermo's food was really good in Feb when I was there. Igor and Ivan helped us out big time. Tig welded my buddies dirt bike chain guide back on so we could ride it home.

Scallops? I love 'em, but never had the real thing served in Baja. I would be served some sort of pounded fish part.

in baja they often translate callo de hacha as "scallop." callo de hacha in baja is adductor muscle of a pen shell bivalve.
this confuses gringos who think of scallops somewhat differently, gringos think of scallops as a tender/soft meat, while callo de hacha is often chewy when cooked.

callo de hacha can be a bit tough, it's often fried/sauted in baja, and comes out chewy. not everyone likes it.
it can be quite tender when used in ceviche.

Guillermo's is my favorite in BOLA. Their seafood is great!

And you can meet some real characters there. And unfortunately a future girlfriend.
Back in the day...seating was available on the upstairs deck. I should never have gone upstairs! LOL:cool::O
