Flew to SJD and rented a car from BBB (prearranged on the net and a perfect way to rent a car in SJD) We drove the road to Todos Santos and up due to
time constraints. The real fun began upon entering LA Paz- COMBAT DRIVING! :-)
Where stop signs are only a "request" (first come -bravest- goes first) and lots of turns to get to Tailhunter restaurant. Had a great meal there and
went to the La Concha hotel for the night.
OK hotel for fishermen maybe not so good for a honeymoon. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly good for lunch and dinner. Nice views out over the
bay and a clean pool. Nice folks there also.
Fishing was great with lots of dodos up to 40+ pounds. All the fishing was arranged by Tailhunter in La Paz
Back to Tailhunter restaurant for dinner again as the shrimp tacos were tremendous. So was the fish and chips!
Next day fishing was out of Punta Arena so a 1 hr drive over there in the dark.
Fishing was not quite as fast as the other side was but still we gave up tired from pulling in dorado. We left with many pounds of filets between the
2 of us.
The drive back started again with the COMBAT DRIVING through La Paz
MAKE DAMN SURE YOU HAVE A MAP AND PHONE THAT WORKS IN LA PAZ so you have driving directions out of town. All of the roads in town have pot holes (or
should I say craters that swallow a car) so keep your eyes open and don't follow a truck too close so you have time to avoid the pot holes.
Stopped just before Todos Santos at the roadside restaurant (one on each side of the road opposite each other but run by the same family) GREAT FOOD!!
Will definitely do that one both ways the next time. They are just a few miles north of TS you can't miss them Lots of cars stopping also.
The road had a speed limit of 90 KMs but EVERYONE was going 110 or better. We kept it at 100-105 just to avoid the Policia we saw along the road.
Turned the car in to BBB and they drove us across the highway back to the terminal. They also arrange with Josiphinas Taxi to bring you to their
office 1/4 mile from airport (you can't walk it) and they pay the cab fare to bring you in, you drop a buck or two for the tip when you get out. Can't
say enough good things about them and their pricing. Won't ever go anywhere else again.
PLAN ON 5 HRS FROM LA PAZ TO YOUR FLIGHT TO GET BACK DROP THE CAR AND GO THROUGH TICKETING GOING HOME
Tailhunters provided everything we needed for 2 days of fishing, all the fishing gear, breakfast and lunch while fishing (basically 3 tacos and stuff
each meal and it was OK). We bought bait $25 USD every morning and tipped the van driver and the fishing guide. Tailhunters provides guidance on
everything.
Our first time fishing with them but it won't be the last.
Short 1+45 flight back to PHX and then jump in my little airplane to go home.
All in all a great trip after having not been down in a decade or more.

Awesome report and disregard the naysayers that are jealous and bored.
Is BBB te actual name of the car rental company?
Thanks ,
Mike

Thanks for the report. Sounds like an awesome fishing trip!
Nothing quite like weather putting the debris where it works, in the water for dorado to hang around.
I read on the other thread the not authentic comment. WTF? You get what you pay for and Tailhunter does everything they can to make your personal
experience with them rewarding and memorable.
Again, thanks for the great FISHING report!
