We crossed into Mexico at San Luis south of Yuma for the first time. Pretty easy crossing with our new truck camper. A quick inspection and then easy
drive to Mex 2 toll road.
We usually go through Mexicali East so it was nice to skip all the city traffic. Tolls were less than 50 pesos and road was in condition.
We stayed two nights at Victor's RV park in San Felipe. They are still working on damage from Hurricane Kay. Rates seemed to have increased. We
checked out Club De Pesca next door and found the rates to be similar. Lots of damage there also.
Made the long drive to San Ignacio. We were going to stay at Rancho Grande in Gonzaga Bay but they wanted 400 pesos plus 100 for our Jeep.
Hwy 1 was in decent shape except for this long and rough detour in between Guerrero Negro and San Ignacio.
We spent the night at Camping y Ecotours Los Petates on the water. Pretty much destroyed by the hurricane and lots of mud still.
Quick drive to Mulege the next day. They are still working on the road in Santa Rosalia.

You were lucky that you got from the border to Hwy 2 between the shootings that occur very often.Marty Mateo - 12-5-2022 at 01:51 PM

Highway 1 looks a mess???? I had no idea the hurricane cleanup was still going on in such a big way.

Blanca, there was another very localized storm a few weeks after the hurricane that did even more damage to Santa Rosalia than Kay did!HeyMulegeScott - 12-9-2022 at 08:30 AM
