Day one, today (2/27). Eleven hour drive from Nor Cal to Tecate. Made it over the grape vine before the next storm. Doing all of this on my phone, so
forgive my typos!
I will try to post daily.

Out of the snow but still cold for Baja. Headed South tomorrow.
Found new parking in Tecate. First place on the right before town. Owner lives on site. $5 bucks a day...

Not the cheapest room in Baja at (130 US $ ) a night, but clean and close to the border.

Thanks for the live trip report!
Nice hotel... in Tecate?Mulege Canuck - 2-28-2023 at 07:04 AM
Great pictures AV.
It is cold down here in Mulege this year too. A $130 a night for a hotel, life is good 😎advrider - 2-28-2023 at 07:52 AM
Thanks everyone. Woke up to a nice wet ground from the rain last night. Going to be cool this morning but no dust! We will be riding much of the Baja
divide route today. We will have extra stuff with us incase we see any bicycle in route.
The room was very comfortable and we had a coffee maker in room as well as coffee in the lobby. Worth the money in my opinion.

👍🏼 Thanks AKgringo - 2-28-2023 at 07:51 PM
Good timing on getting out of NorCal. I am in Nevada County at about 2400 feet and it is Snowmagedon all over again!
It has been snowing for three days, roads are closed or clogged, power is out for almost half of the county. As of 6:00 there were 111 separate
damage reports affecting over 17,000 service connections.
Think of me while you are grinning in the sunshine!
Edit; The amount of snow locally would not have been such a problem except for the wind that it came in with. Trees are the main problem.

Yep, my wife is home dealing with it now. We did get some in Baja today as well.advrider - 2-28-2023 at 08:33 PM
Day one.,. Cold, wet, snow and mud, mud, mud! Only made a 170 miles and ended up at Cal's. We were trying for Catavina.
Pictures later today when we get better service.

Finally a live trip report! Seems like it's been ages. Be safe!DizzyNick - 3-1-2023 at 01:55 PM
Looking forward to following along, have a great trip!advrider - 3-1-2023 at 05:21 PM
Thanks DizzyNick. Made it to El Rosario today, all highway. Way to much slick mud to ride any dirt. The hiway wasn't much better with its layer or red
clay in every town! Nice meal and room at Cal's last night. Baja cactus tonight.
A few pictures of yesterday's mud fest.

Some more of day one. We were not playing in the mud puddle like 3 year olds. KTM Nate decided to deposit it in the mud while he was washing his bike.
We knew it was in there because it was still playing music to his helmet as rode away!

Sorry for the double pictures, very hard posting with my phone.
Hang in there, more to come.
Day two was all highway. It was cover with a nice layer of red clay all the way to El Rosario.

325 miles today, Baja cactus to San Ignacio. No rain or mud to report! Dinner in the square next to the ice cream shop. Very good food. Breakfast at
chapala, also very good.

Hey Rider, sweet trip so far.
I think you were traveling. Can you look at my question regarding Hagy Mesa:

I haven't ridden that track but have everything around it. I also watched some video on it and it didn't look bad. I would do it on my 700 and really
enjoy it on my 500. advrider - 3-3-2023 at 01:42 PM
New plan. I will post an update everyday with a few pic's. After I'm home ill go back and add to each day. Down sizing and posting is a pane on my
phone. advrider - 3-3-2023 at 01:45 PM
Short day SI to Scorpion bay only a 130 miles, no rain or mud. Lots of rocks.

Is that the same area known as the "mudhills"?advrider - 3-3-2023 at 02:03 PM
I don't think so, I've ridden the mud hills and it's closer to Catavina. I think this is just out of El Rosario. advrider - 3-5-2023 at 08:55 AM
Scorpion bay to Loreto, about a 120 miles of rock and deep sand. Not advised unless you have a 4wd, or your a local in a Carolla!

It's been almost a week with no updates....I hope this is a problem with the phone you are using, and not the trip.
Fatboy disappeared for a while last year, and everything worked out well, so I will look forward to your next post!
