Baja Pole Line Road Event Summary

Ken Cooke - 4-10-2005 at 10:27 AM

I posted the complete event summary in the 'Trip Summary' section of this webpage. We had a wonderful time with lots of great people onboard. Thanks to the quick thinking of Mickey Nielsen, we had a Jeep stop losing all of its oil on the trail!:O

BX took great trail notes which will help in future trips along this rough trail.

We almost lost a Jeep several times off of cliffs, prompting our clubs ex-President to halt future club trips along this route for non-club members. I will try and figure a way to change this by next April, but his decision stands. He is too worried about losing his home to a possibly fatality - of which he spotted many close calls by one of the drivers.

Well, it was fun and of the 12 vehicles and 27 people, we all had a wonderful time!

Ken, Shirley and I appreciate you having us along on the trip. We had a great time. Please let the other Jeep members know how much we like their company and friendship. Thank you for putting it all together. With as many people and vehicles as we had, I know you must have felt like you were herding cats at times.

Before we hit BB Hill, we had one guy taking off on foot, a broken Jeep up the wash, the sun began setting...Yep, it got hectic!

I really didn't mind, but the funny part of the whole trip was Who the heck was that guy on the lone quad Saturday night? Where did he come from???

He may have been the ghost of Pole Line Road, riding vigil on that lonely road of yesteryear, keeping an eye on us strangers in his domain.
