A visita was a mission visiting station, a chapel, farm, or ranch connected to the head mission. Some visitas were mistaken for being missions by
writers of the 20th Century. The main difference between a visita and a mission is that the visita did not have a full-time priest or a financial
endowment. They were satellite chapels of the head mission.
