Driving report from February 18, 2024:
The eastern route from highway 2D at the Pavarottti sign, crossing Laguna Salada remains muddy, but passable with 4x4. Not recommended until it dries
out for a few more weeks.
Note: Even when it appears dry, stay on one of the main tracks. Deep, sticky mud can be lurking below a dry surface.
The western "high" road from 2D was recently graded by one of the local ranches. It is in unusually excellent condition, without washboards. I don't
expect that to be true in a few weeks time.
The final miles to Canyon Guadalupe are graded and repaired from past devastating storms. There should be no difficulty with 2WD.
Daytime highs were 75F to 80F over the weekend. Night lows in the 50s.

Awesome to hear! Baja Angel and I used to love it there, but Halloween 2008 was our final time as Arturo Loya was forced out by his relatives and most
of the nice (lower) camps were closed that we enjoyed so much. La Joya A or B and La Paloma where Hotschott and Val camped.
I would be willing to go back at some point... it was so so nice under the stars in the hot water.

How many sites are open? Busy? How much do they charge per night?
Read about the area for years but have never been. We regularly drive to San Felipe, one of these times we’ll stop.
