MOTORHOME...AND GUIDE TO BOOT!!

Diver - 4-17-2005 at 06:57 AM

Have you considered renting it out ?

You could pick-up Nomads at the airport and rent them the camper, then charge for guided fishing tours and lessons, specific instruction on food and alchohol consumption in Baja, stucco schooling, momma's pies, etc..

Maybe include a special de-briefing service for needy gringo executives with a lot of $ and a need to get grounded.

But Diver....I ALREADY do that!...and for free!

In that case, when shall I come ??

(I need two weeks to sell the house, leave the wife and pack my rods and reels !)

I am sorry, I am not a homewrecker...besides, you probably won't want to wear a bikini anyway.

P.S. The last time I fished the Gorge the German Brown was king...still that way?

DIVER...you gave me an idea....

Guide? Fishing guide? No pay, of course, but work for beer!!

I CAN SEE IT ALL NOW..............................!:light:

Grow the beard and YES, I can see it !
Wait, I have the beard; you can drive !

We usually go for salmon and steelhead.
The Klickitat and Columbia rivers are both within a few hundred yards of our home. I haven't been into the hills for trout in quite a while.

Hooked a 7' sturgeon with a buddy's rig last month.
1 hour to haul up a very very ugly fish. We had a blast and by the time we were done the game officer was there to film the release. I'm not sure, but I think he was disappointed that we were using a legal, single barbless hook.

Hey Diver,
How long have you lived in Lyle? I was raised there in the 50's (pre dam, when the Celilo Rapids were still above the Dalles). My parents and grandparents owned the local grocery store - Dean's Market. At that time I was related to every person in the town and surronding area. I spent most of my early years fishing both the Columbia and the Klick.

TandT,

We've been here for 14 years. Dean's market was before my time.
If you remember Clara Garner's old house (above Jim Havens); that's where we live. (Clara was the old school teacher - she passed three years ago)

Lots of the older crowd is still here;
Joyce Hutchins
Gale Castle
Jim Curl
Don Brashers
Bertchis
George Van De Vanter
Pimleys
Smiths and more Smiths

You should see the new Lion's Club building ! and all the new homes !
The old fish station is gone for a realty office and the school is double the size.

They still have the best Pancake Breakfast at the Lyons Club.

Diver,

I know exactly where you live and recognize a lot of the names. But rather than highjack this thread for a reunion, I sent you a U2U.
