Actually, I have concluded since the passage of NAFTA and alot of other treaties that the US government is not out to serve its citizens in foreign countries as much as it is out to serve US CORPORATIONS in foreign countries.

It saddens me greatly to say that but it's rare that our government does anything for the little guy unless a corporation convinces the State Dept or a senator to do something for him/her on their behalf.

And that's just wrong.

I would think that your Father, as you described, was a Man of Faith, who was doing what he enjoyed-Living His life as he wished in His Heart and Mind!
As a Korean Veteran, a Resident and Adventuer in Baja Sur for Many years, I never felt any fear from traveling while in Baja.
I felt more Fear driving Throu Las Angeles on the I -5 Freeway, so started going down Hwy 15 instead.

Please consider that your Father was a Man who was doing His own Thing and would not Want you to Suffer!!

Through all of my many Adventures, Fear did not Stop my Desire to see" The next Challenge" but My Faith in God gave me the ability to beleive in my self and my God.

As a person, I can only offer my Prayers for you and your Family, and assure you that I would want you to go on in your Life being Happy and remember me for the many Good and Happy things that we enjoyed Together.

...I just received an email update from Adrian at the Mulege Spanglish News. The report is that there are 2 men being held in TJ in connection with the death of Mr. Curtis. They are reported to have been in custody for about 2 weeks...they will follow as more becomes known...we all hope it is true and they have the guilty parties...

I'm in Mulege now visiting my daughter's Mexican relatives and as I passed Playa Armenta last night on the drive up from the Loreto airport, I paused to remember your dad. My thoughts are with your family and I'm so sorry that this place that he loved to visit is also a place of tragedy for your family...words can not really express these sentiments properly but I hope that the news of 2 possible suspects if they are responsible for your father's murder will bring some relief to you...I know that may be cliche but I will keep you, Curt and your family in my thoughts!!

Thanks for paying attention and posting this . This is good news in an otherwise miserable circumstance. Hopefully they have found the real perps and some other dirt bags out there will take notice that there are are people in this world including Baja, that don't just say 'oh well" and give up, but keep on dogging till a case is solved .

Kudos to any Baja California LE that had anything to do with this investigation.

Berry the US gov. or state dept. will recover the body of any us citizen that dies in a foreign country.and they really dropped the ball on this one. they did nothing that they were supposed to do.

I wish you were right..... I have been through this experience twice now, of recovering bodies of americans killed in auto accidents in baja.
The us government was no help whatsever on either occasion.
And each time the cost to recover the body was well over five thousand dollars us. And incredible anguish and complication after complication was the norm in both of these operations.

I suppose if you know a congressman you might get some help.

Just my experience.

Bajawaverunner, The couple that own and operate Playa Buenvenura, an American guy and Mexican lady, live there. Very friendly and helpful couple. They've probably got a website.:D

Was always under the impression that Mike and his wife ( Olivia :?: ) were the owners of that whole complex.
