How do you know when your love for Baja is out of control?

Debra - 7-20-2005 at 07:11 PM

1) You travel from Seattle at least 3 times per year (weekends, weeks, or months on end)...whatever you can swing! (trains, planes and automobiles) done it all!

2) When you can't get there you read, OR watch El Camote videos over and over . (or listen to El Camote "selections" on audio tape).....the kid wore out the tape WHAT NOW?

Or Go to David's site to look at the pictures of all of the wonderful trips that I was part of and others that I was not.

3) You unpack only to wash and repack the same bag. (bag is never empty!)

4) You are packed and ready to go and the bottom falls out of your plans.....serious depression sets in....tears get the better of you.....

It's a beautiful day here, has been for several days but all I've been able to think about is that I can't go to the Festival or snorkeling after further south....sheese! I'm a spoiled rotten brat!

Everyone, have a wonderful Festival.....sorry I can't meet all of you that I'd hoped to. :(

Doug? Can we please have back the option to delete a thread that we have started, I really didn't want this to go "there".......Shesse!

Bajame - 7-20-2005 at 09:21 PM

As soon as you get home from your trip you are planing the next one. You have a Baja screen saver on computer. Your family members laugh and say (Down in Baja) everytime you bring up the subject. You know life is better there and just the thought of it brings you a warm feeling. :) Sometimes the thought of living there is scary because the the bubble might bust! :O Anticipating the next visit is half the fun. :bounce: You have something always to look forward to. You always think of ways to avoid getting the Baja belly bug. :barf: And you will put up with the nonsense on the board just to hear what others have to say and what they have experienced on their trips.

Debra - 7-20-2005 at 09:26 PM

Sorry Diver.....I get it......I was responding to the post before your's.....Mea Culpa!!!!!

rogerj1 - 7-20-2005 at 10:02 PM

Debra, this board is what it is because of Baja fanatics. If it wasn't for people like you, this board would be dull and uninteresting like most of the other baja forums. Don't you dare delete this thread!

High Strung?

jrbaja - 7-20-2005 at 10:07 PM

That is too funny Diver:lol::lol::lol:

Debra - 7-20-2005 at 10:18 PM

I got it bad !!
Today marks 15 months since my last border crossing.
That is the longest funless/peaceless spell I've done in many years.
Still trying to finish the new house construction - next month for sure !?!?

Se vende puros ? No ? Que vende puros ? (cigars for the non-smokers)
Se vende cerveza ? What a stupid question - but of course !!
Tacos y pescado.... camarones..... tortillas.... amigos.... El Requeson.... beaches.... warm water..... warm sun................................................................................................................................................... ......................................................................................

What did you people do to my husband ? He's been sitting here in a coma-like daze for two hours now !!

TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL !!!!! Visited SF last Sept. (1st time) - Bought house & plan to be living there by Oct. - have made about 8 trips & trying to fit in another 1 before we move ! Totally out of control - or - totally nuts !!:lol::lol::lol:

David A. - 7-21-2005 at 05:26 AM

When your driving home from Baja and you are happy because, you are one day closer to your next trip south.:bounce:

Osprey - 7-21-2005 at 08:39 AM

Every time I vacationed here my office would lose my services for a couple of weeks while I planned the trip and about a month when I got back while I was showing snapshots and delivering fish to all my friends. When I finally quit for good to retire here I told my boss "I was burned out". He said "I was never on fire".

bajaruby - 7-21-2005 at 10:42 AM

Yes...It's a cozy ol beachtown feeling. And close by for any spare of the moment "let's go!". Stop by Bajalou's house anytime, for a free meal and drink. Try out his hottub too. He welcomes all! Such an nice jolly ol boy he is!

egrpoet,
.... be a Baja native like all of you ?????????
99% Gringos here on this board.
1% mexicans.
Some Gringos can spell their own language, some have damn trouble w/ spelling.
Some trying French language to look smart when the topic is not about bamboo. But spelling french is a challange for a Gringo.
Right JR,? "toot sweet" sounds French but isn't.
French version: tout d'suite
But (most) Gringos never learn another language.
That's why they live in Baja and all over the world in Gringo-Enclaves or call'em > Ghettos. Advantage: Most of those Ghettos are fenced in like
our sheep!
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

The question I have is

jrbaja - 7-24-2005 at 09:39 AM

now that I have had my french lesson, will I be able to apply it here in Baja. Perhaps Santa Rosalia?

Hey Toot's gimme sum o dem dere sweets.

Cool, I think I've got it now. Thanks
