NEED AN ANSWER FOR YOUR BAJA QUESTION? (then please read this)

BajaNomad - 10-17-2003 at 07:42 AM

You need to post in the forum covering that specific area of interest - or simply in the Q & A ("Questions & Answers") forum.

PLEASE.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hello Doug,

You no doubt posted this reminder in response to another poster's suggestion that a Q be also posted in General so it would have a greater chance of being seen & answered. I have often seen Qs go unanswered in the Q & A section..of this board and the old Amigos.

I originally fought the divding up of the boards because...who has time to checked out two boards? I wanted everything in one place so we could see the who & the what of the happenings.

Times have changed...boards have changed.....now we have more boards...on just Nomads... than we could ever use and people are still complaining they want more division! Too funny!

I, too have changed how I approach the board...it may work for others as well.

I changed the entry URL in my "Favorites" from General to "Today's Posts". This way, when I check in, a quick glance tells me who has been active and in which "room". It saves a lot of time, and I don't miss anything.

It works for me and it might work for others. So...divide away...I got it covered!

I also use the ?Todays Posts? feature, but I had a small problem with it until I found out that I can go to my personal profile/settings page and block out all posts by any members I wish. My setting is currently set to block out all posts by just one particular member, and this works great. However, I have to set this feature every time I log in; it is a bit of a hassle, but I think it is worth it.

David K - 10-17-2003 at 11:53 PM

Does that work if that one Nomad posts from West Vancouver? LOL

Packo, see my post on the Board Comments Board...

Bookerman - 10-18-2003 at 11:07 PM

How do I make it do the blocking? I looked and couldn't find it.

bajalera - 11-13-2003 at 09:44 AM

Admin: I'm having a computer problem--this is a test to see if the damn thing will send a post. Thanks

bajalera - 11-18-2003 at 09:04 AM

When I try to post Deja Vu Pericu (Part 2) in the history section I get "Thank you, your message has been submitted." Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? - Thanks, bajalera

Ability to post photos

academicanarchist - 7-23-2004 at 08:22 AM

Doug. Why all of a sudden are we unable to post photos, even photos under 50k in size?

He's looking into the problem.

jrbaja - 7-23-2004 at 08:54 AM

It is not on purpose or planned.

Hey Doug.... New Topic Category?

Sharksbaja - 3-28-2005 at 04:13 PM

Hows about a new topic catagory called "Baja Battlefield". It would be well used and we would not have to view and participate in all the personal attacks and skirmishes on all the rest of the topics and posts. Just a thought....

Diver - 3-28-2005 at 04:53 PM

YES ! YES !

and put the new forum with the off-topic posts !

meme - 4-28-2005 at 07:51 AM

Is it no longer possible to email the topic to a friend?
Thanks

Here is how you can Meme...

Just use your mouse to copy the URL for the thread (left click mouse and hold while dragging over the URL highlighting it, then right click mouse and click 'copy'), and then paste that into your email (right click mouse and click 'paste')...

Here is the URL for this thread (topic), from my mouse: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=1319

The upgraded software removed that feature. This issue was brought forward by others as well, and I've said that I will put in the effort to put it back in place (customize the new software)... but it will require some time to do so, and I'll have to get to it when I can.

Doug,
It would be neat to have a thread to talk about other places in Mexico besides Baja. Audrey and I are headed to Yucatan tomorrow and will spend the next 13 days in a rental car exploring the area. Getting out of Cancun as quickly as possible.;D

JR brought that up a while ago.
I'm all for hearing anyones stories of far-away places !

MH_Stevens - 11-3-2005 at 12:14 PM

Just my 2c but I think this forum would befit by having fewer sub-forums. Any forum with less that 500 topics should be amalgamated into general. I think this is enough:

General
Photos
Trip Reports
Classifieds/Buy-Sell/Real Estate

bajalou - 11-3-2005 at 12:24 PM

My 2c - doesn't matter how many seperate forums it has. Just click on "Today's Posts" and you get the latest posts on ALL the sub-forums except "Off Topic". Click the arrow to the right of the last posters name and you go to the last post of that thread.
Then If you want a lot of trip reports or fishing reports, you can go to that forum and view all of them. The "General" is very big now.

Lou, I very seldom have time for much more than today's posts. BUT sometimes I do wonder what happened to a thread that I was interested in and delve into the forum a little deeper.

This format seems to work, doesnt it?:smug:

bajalou - 11-3-2005 at 04:39 PM

Does for me----------

Until I found the "Today Posts" and the arrow I was sometimes overwhelmed trying to find the latest posts - but some of you showed me how it's done and I like it.

Doug. I just received a new password and was able to log in but I can't access my U2U's. I'm not on my computer at the moment as I had to come north for a doctors appointment. Can you be of any help?
