If they will drive 25 more miles, you can stay at Baja Cactus... Antonio is there right now as I just called him to reserve a room for Debra tonight. This is next to the Pemex and Mama Espinoza's in El Rosario, on the highway.

Just stopped at the Old Mill...about 3 1/2 miles west of the highway...look for the signs south of San Quentin a few miles. See post about this place. Bueno suerte. Good rooms, good price, good food next door, good views. Should fill your bill.

Bob - what's happenin'?

A few threads on this same subject:

I can indeed confirm that the Baja Cactus is a mighty convenient location (next to the El Rosario Pemex, owned by the same family), and a great value. I think the only challenge there recently is actually being certain they have a room available? David, thoughts?

here it is

Bumps....

BajaCactus - 3-3-2006 at 08:17 PM

Thank you very much for your great recommendations guys... we truly appreciate them.

And I have some news.... today... finally after a couple of months they installed the bumps I requested at the front of our Motel.

So, now, when Bajaandy's friends come at the Festival they can have the "Topes" they were asking for at Mama Espinoza's place...jejejeje (read http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=11904#pid9480...).

This is the first night with those bumps there... but so far it seems they almost eliminated those horrible sounds of the big trucks when they brake before the curve near the motel.... now they have to hit the brakes before the gas station.

Well... thanks again guys... and hope to see some "Baja Nomads" on their adventures thru Baja.

south end of san quintin is don eddies landing (next to the old mill. clean inexspensive and safe. great resturant with deck over looking the bay. I think the rooms were about 45 bucs. watch for signs south of town that lead to old mill and don eddies, take wide graded dirt road out toward bay about 2 miles. tell them NOT to stay in town.

Motel Chavez, on right side of Highway One going south--two stories, interior parking, comfortable beds, lots of hot water, a hair dryer [!],TV but not many choices. Relatively new and well kept up. For us [2 adults, 1 child], 2 comfortable double beds--328 pesos; singles around 250.

Restaurant-Bar Quintin, right next door, has good Mexican food, reasonable prices, efficient service.
