Excellent! Got pix of the Ixmiquilpan murals?David K - 10-10-2006 at 05:31 PM
Robert, the forum is "Baja Historic Interests & Literature "... so please connect the beautiful Mexican chuches to the missions of Baja some
how... and do continue to share your photos!
By the way, a lady searching for details of her great, great grandfather (Fernando de la Toba) found the photos Jack Swords took of de la Toba's grave
in my web site... I sent her email to Jack and he suggested you may have something to add... Is your hotmail address still good?
Here is de la Toba's grave, near Rancho la Presa. He was a governor of southern Baja California...

We weren't able to get into the church, which was closed. They had just completed a quincenera the day we visited, which was Saturday afternoon. But
did get shots of other murals at Actopan.

David. I did get the e-mail. She probably should consult Los californianos, which is a California pre-1850 genealogical organization. The 16th century
central Mexican convents, as you know, were precursors to the northern missions, including the Baja California missions.Oso - 10-10-2006 at 07:03 PM

That's a good enough link for me, please continue. Apparently some think "THE BAJA" (odious and stupid term) was created as a playground for gringos
and is not a part of...HELLOOO!, MEXICO!David K - 10-10-2006 at 07:16 PM
Oso, it's not my forum... I just wanted Robert to connect all his mainland photos to Baja to stay 'on topic'... Don't want a moderator to move it to
the 'non-Baja' aka 'Off Topic' forum here! Oso - 10-10-2006 at 07:42 PM
Agreed there. That short rant was not directed at you, David, and I hope your suggestion is good enough for the moment. The fact is that we waste a
huge amount of space on crap not remotely connected to the MEXICAN states of Baja California and Baja California Sur. Thankfully, most of the idiotic
feces-flinging between repugnants and demorats is confined to off-topic with some spillover. But to me, ANYTHING about Mexico has infinitely more
relevance to B.C and B.C.S. than U.S. politics does. I would definitely not like to see these beautiful photos lost among the dungheaps of off-topic.
We have so many specialized forums already, would it hurt to have one set aside for "Mainland Mexico"?
