sometimes I think it might be useful if the thread start date was listed as well as the last post date. Example: Someone over the last couple of days
dredged up a posting about environmental impact police that was started in July. Scared me for a while until I realized it was an old post,
resurrected.

I would need to do some custom scripting to achieve that end, however doing such makes updating the board software more difficult to practically
impossible.
...and I wish to be able to implement updates easily in case of a security issue software-wise. At least, that's the current mindset. It's also one
of the downsides of using pre-made (as opposed to custom) software - you have to live with what's already built-in.

it is already there. there is always a date of the posting of every post. just check the first one.

It's the checking the first one, being the problem... The front board shows the last reply date but not the thread's first posting date.
When people resond to something they SHOULD check and see if it was posted this month or three years ago... but they don't.
If it isn't an easy fix, then I don't think it is too big a problem needing fixing... Not a bad idea, however.
