Jerry - look at the upper right hand corner of your internet page. There are 3 boxes - the center one shows two boxes, one behind the other. Click on this box. I think this will fix your problem.

Might need the Windows Magnifier - if it's installed:

Otherwise, change the display resolution???:

Jerry, this may sound silly, but do you wear glasses? A pair of drugstore reading glasses for magnification may help while you solve the technical problem.

Should be lots of 'em kicking around Loreto. I have 25 pair or so myself. Totally dependent.

jerry - 12-6-2006 at 10:17 PM

We're here for the winter, spring, and most of the summer. U2U when you get here, and we'll all get together.

This might help. Try adjusting your screen resolution. On the Start taskbar go to Settings, then Control Panel, then Display. Click on the Settings button and slide the Screen Resolution to the middle (1280x800). Then click Apply and then OK.

jerry - 12-7-2006 at 01:00 AM

thanks larry that did help some but its a little blury not as sharp it will help for now thanks again

bahiamia - 12-7-2006 at 08:10 AM

To make the contents on your desktop appear larger, you'll want to decrease the screen resolution. 1280x1024 is pretty high, instead, go the other direction and set it to 800x600 pixels.

If you still prefer the fonts/text to be larger even still, go to the bar at the top of your browser when on BajaNomad or any other page. Click on "VIEW", then "TEXT", then change the font size from there to a larger size.

In the FireFox browser, hitting "CTRL +" instantly increases font size about 50% each time. If you aren't already using FireFox, that feature alone is worth the switch.

Hot damn Larry!! Thanks!!!! That is much easier on these old eyes! You going to tell the secret code to undo that? Or is it a session thingee? Does it only affect the session I do it in & only for that log-on? Or what? Or you going to make me dig myself out? :?:;D Oh wait!! Could it be CRTL - ?? It is!! :bounce::bounce:

jerry - 12-7-2006 at 09:19 AM

thanks larry just a few things for this dummy what is foxfire?? where and how do i get it??

bajalou - 12-7-2006 at 09:22 AM

Foxfire is a web browser, similar to Internet Explorer but with more safety and lots of neat features, like automatic spell check etc. Has lots of add ons and plug ins to let you customize your internet usage. Colored tabs, tab previews - tons of them. Free from

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/central/

Been using it for a couple years ? and great.

Jerry,

I did not know about the Control+ trick but this might also work.

At the top of your screen it should say:

File Edit View Favorites Tools Help

Click on View and a drop down box will open up.

Click on text size and another box will open showing:

Largest Larger Medium Smaller Smallest

One of these will have a dot next to it showing which setting is currently being used. If you would like it larger or smaller, just click on which one you would like.

I hope this works for you as well! ;)

Big John's suggestions should work out for you, but I set the size for most of the pages at one that's acceptable and still find a page now and then that's small and use the Control + for that one.

jerry - 12-7-2006 at 10:03 AM

thanks bigjohn i tryed that befor i asked here it increases the font for the brouser but not nomads??

the central+ has to be with foxfire??\

im really new at this and stupid when it comes to puders if i down load foxfire will it become my brouser? and will i beable to get back to internet explorer? to be able to get to all the other things i need to

jerry - 12-7-2006 at 10:15 AM

send me enoff money and ill hire a writer to write a artical and lawers to start a law suit to protect the sheep from themselves :lol::lol::lol::O:O:O

bajalou - 12-7-2006 at 10:17 AM

It doesn't replace Internet Explorer, just installs in addition to it. and with "View in IE" I have never had to go back to IE, get updates etc all through Firefox.

jerry - 12-7-2006 at 10:45 AM

thank you one and all i now have foxfire and i can see the print

Oh, I WISH Microsoft had not done that. Anything other than a setting of "medium", really misses up the font scheme of a LOT of normally well-implemented pages.

Grumble...

--Larry
Actually Larry, the fonts only change this way i(and with Ctrl+scroll) in IE (versions ?? through 6; don't know about 7 yet) if they are coded as relative font sizes and not absolute sizes. To see it get all messed up, one can do this on the Today's Posts page - and it plays funny tricks because the way the XMB developers coded that page.
