My wife got me hooked on reading this board, so I finally signed up and spent half a day making my darn avatar. Now I just read that I have to make 25
posts so it will show up!
Talk about delayed gratification.
So... I guess I’ll begin with something simple:
Hello all!bajabound2005 - 1-10-2007 at 08:34 AM
Welcome, BigWooo. You'll be surprised how quickly you'll have enough posts to earn your avatar!
Welcome
Keri - 1-10-2007 at 08:45 AM
How about telling us about yourself. That will give you a couple of posts. kBigWooo - 1-10-2007 at 08:50 AM
Maybe my name should have been "big delay" . I'm out the door right now so I'll have to do the intro this afternoon...

And if you pattern yourself after the Roman wonder God, you'll make super Nomad before the year is out.bajaguy - 1-10-2007 at 09:11 PM

FARASHA ... you devilBigWooo - 1-11-2007 at 08:20 AM
I never really explored Baja much until I met my wife (who took me there for my first time). We have been building a house in BCS, but still really
enjoy camping. Although our focus is on surfing, we like shore and kayak fishing, paddleboarding as well as looking for “stuff” on the beach.
My wife really likes looking for sharks teeth and places where indians have lived, but I have to admit I must have attention deficit disorder because
I can’t seem to focus on the ground long enough to find anything, I usually just enjoy the hike.
I enjoy Nomad most to hear how others have figured out how to deal with the unique situations that arise from traveling and living in Baja, oh...and I
always look forward to Ken Bondy's pictures!
My wife’s avatar is a really good wave.David K - 1-11-2007 at 08:52 AM

BigWooo,
I checked out your avatar on your profile, pretty cool. If you replied to each person who welcomes you to this board, you could probably reach your
desination in just this one thread.
Good luck and welcome to the board!

Isn't Baja GREAT !!!BigWooo - 1-12-2007 at 05:56 PM
Thank you for the warm welcome! I usually have a hard time thinking of what to write so it will probably be a little bit before I earn that avitar!

I understand but can you not use it temporarily as a signature file? Do newbies have that priviledge? Goto your "edit profile"
Enter common tag to install .gif etc. like:

in the sig box. Who knows, maybe it'll werk!

Thanks Sharks!
The avitar above is going to dissappear in a bit though, because I just moved it to photobucket, but I think I'll leave it up on the old address until
I get 25 posts so I can see it in yours!Bajalover - 1-13-2007 at 03:31 PM
Thanks for the advice Sharks. Guess now it's time to set up a URL. This is very new to me. Any suggestions. tks.
whats a url
CaboRon - 6-6-2007 at 08:09 PM
I have been trying to post my avitar,,,, but I don't know what a URL is... The avitar is stored in my Lexmark Printer in Saved Images

OK, I finally gotten set up with pohotbucket and have an address for it. The problem is that on the "edit Profile" page after I fill out
information (eg. birthday, URL for avitor) in the spaces there is no "save changes" button that I can find------only at the bottom of the page is
instead another "edit profile" button. When I push that it does not save the page....all new information just goes away . Any info for this would
be appreciated. Thanks, CaboRonCaboRon - 6-8-2007 at 06:17 AM
What a dummy......just realized I am posting of a thread that is very old........there is probably nobody reading this .........BigWooo - 6-8-2007 at 07:28 AM

CaboRon ----
When you post, it comes up to the top of Todays Posts. I think most everybody monitors Todays Posts because it covers all threads so, it'll be
seen.CaboRon - 6-8-2007 at 12:02 PM
Dennis, Thanks again for the info. RonHook - 6-8-2007 at 12:31 PM
Now that you've qualified, I guess we can say you are sporting a
DAGwood.
It Worked !!!
CaboRon - 6-8-2007 at 12:42 PM
Big Woo, As you can see it finally worked. Thank's for your help with this. Now I get to start working on a real animated avitar. Thanks
again, CaboRon Gnome-ad - 6-8-2007 at 01:16 PM
I was going to welcome BigWooo, but kept wondering how his avatar was already here and there were 59 posts. Now I, along with CaboRon, understand. I know what I want my avatar to be, just need to do the work and wait for it
to appear ...
Like yours very much CaboRon. Will research this discussion again if I hit a wall. Amir talked me through it over the phone and I made cryptic notes,
but I am not totally computer savy.amir - 6-8-2007 at 06:15 PM
And many Gratifications to you, Cabron!
You worked hard for it!
Now we can all enjoy it...

Even though I had reduced my Avitar to 97x100 pixels on Photobucket before posting .... it just seemed to come out too " in your face big" after I
posted it yesterday. And then, as if by magic ... I awoke this morning to see it had been visually reduced to just the way I had wanted it to
appear yesterday .... And, properties still says 97x100 pixels ......... not sure how that happened ?? But, it was way cool CaboRon
