Cardon, you have a great eye for photography! I love that last one of all the boats pulled up on shore.Martyman - 3-16-2007 at 02:14 PM
Why do the Pangueros stretch a shirt over the engine cover?cbuzzetti - 3-16-2007 at 02:24 PM
My guess is that they won't get scuffed or sun faded as much.
I need to find a small Corona t-shirt for my 30 hp.
Just trying to blend in ;-)cbuzzetti - 3-16-2007 at 02:25 PM
Oh yeah, great pics everybody!!!Osprey - 3-16-2007 at 02:44 PM
I left my boat on the beach for 5 years. My T shirt was instead of a blanket. The cover is to keep the wiring from cooking in the sun but they steal
the blankets (they eventually steal the shirts too). On my first trip to San Filipe I saw all the boats were missing the propellers -- they take em
home at night. At La Ribera the props were left on the boats at night -- part of the reason I chose this little pueblo. A few T shirts, spark plugs
and wires were a small price to pay for free beach parking for 5 years. When my rusty old trailer breaks down, I'll be right back down there, T
shirts and all.tripledigitken - 3-16-2007 at 02:58 PM
It's not really a boat but a barge that transports salt out to very large boats.

Ken that is a breathtakingly beautiful shot.
Here is on of the pangas in La Playita taken a few days ago. You can see some of the construction equipment around.

Another great shot Ken. Reminds me too much of home, though. I guess that's why I always rush through San Quintin. Makes for great lighting though.tripledigitken - 3-18-2007 at 11:02 AM
That shot is particularly reminiscent of No Cal. The mountain in the background is one of a half dozen or more volcanos. We stayed at the Old Mill
on our way back this time.
A few words on Old Mill. Much as been said about the road in. Yes its 3 miles of slow going, but not bad at a slow pace. The hotel is well kept, we
stayed in the new wing this time around. $40 for two with 2 free pacifico's. Nice touch.
The restaurant next door was very good. I had stone crab claws (ala Cielto Lindo) and they were very good. Paula had a cod fillet that was good as
well. Nice owner and staff.
Restaurant Jardines, spoken by many on this board, is closed undergoing remodeling. That's a shame as it is another fine eatery.
For those who don't know the Old Mill is a destination fishing resort with many panga's for rent. During the summer time it can be very good fishing
there for Tuna, Dorado and Yellowtail. One year when we got skunked at Mulege we stopped at the Old Mill to cool off and had a great day of fishing.
It is worth the stop.

Our, ever the popular, President Bush at some economic conference of Pacific countries in 2002. Apparently none of the hotels were good enough so we
footed the bill for about eight Navel ships for him to stay on while there. First time I’d ever saw military ships in off Cabo.Iflyfish - 5-4-2007 at 12:36 AM
Thread reminds me of the old blues song goes:
"there's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes", substitute "boat" for "arm".
