Cardon, you have a great eye for photography! I love that last one of all the boats pulled up on shore.

Why do the Pangueros stretch a shirt over the engine cover?

My guess is that they won't get scuffed or sun faded as much.
I need to find a small Corona t-shirt for my 30 hp.
Just trying to blend in ;-)

I left my boat on the beach for 5 years. My T shirt was instead of a blanket. The cover is to keep the wiring from cooking in the sun but they steal the blankets (they eventually steal the shirts too). On my first trip to San Filipe I saw all the boats were missing the propellers -- they take em home at night. At La Ribera the props were left on the boats at night -- part of the reason I chose this little pueblo. A few T shirts, spark plugs and wires were a small price to pay for free beach parking for 5 years. When my rusty old trailer breaks down, I'll be right back down there, T shirts and all.

It's not really a boat but a barge that transports salt out to very large boats.
