Conception Bay Beaches...Before, During, and After Easter

Pompano - 4-1-2007 at 06:35 PM

I thought it might be interesting to see some photo comparisons...so here goes the first few.

(Hey, it's been too windy to fish!)

This was a week ago at Cocos beach (just south of Posada...)

Now I've got to run down to Juncalito beach & see what's happening there.
Thanks Pompano for the uptodate pic's.

Diver - 4-1-2007 at 06:51 PM

Very interesting !!
I bet the crouds all but cover the beach by next week.
Hope they have good weather !

Thanks Pompano !

.

Looks like the weather is great

Keri - 4-1-2007 at 07:18 PM

I'm in my uggs and a sweatshirt here. I wish I was on coco's right now. well scratch that,I want to be there when there are no people not now I guess, but I sure could use some hot weather, :yes:k

BajaBruno - 4-2-2007 at 09:09 AM

You're killing me. It's been rainy and way too cold here for the last four months.
The cove looks beautiful, even if the crowds are excessive.

Vince - 4-2-2007 at 09:50 AM

Good photos, Pompano. Hope all is going well at your place. Patrick said he is heading to the house after this week. Vince

Packoderm - 4-2-2007 at 09:50 AM

I don't see any extra porta potties in those pictures. What ends up happening with that? I wonder what the Mexicans think about the crowds. Would they feel disappointed if there was a low turnout? Are there live bands and organized party activities such as tug-a-war and other games? Are gingos welcome to join in?

Capt. George - 4-2-2007 at 10:38 AM

I just recently found out (through a Mexicano) that if the beaches being camped on are closed off by foreigners (federal lease) then they use those properties as Porta-Potties.

can ya blame em? I can't.

Coyote camping beach today...

Pompano - 4-3-2007 at 12:26 PM

...getting closer to maximum capacity. The good smell of campfire smoke is in the air. Sounds like this year's cherry bombs are slightly more powerful!

Wait, is that a Dodge down there??

Still not quite enough noise to scare away this egret...

Pompano - 4-3-2007 at 02:07 PM

I had this guy for company while having coffee on the patio this morning. All in all, this Easter seems unusually calm compared to other years.

Shore was quiet last week around Mulege, even with the tourney. Nice serene photo.

Hey I love that time lapse photography! Too cool. Thanks for posting those.

alkijeff - 4-3-2007 at 06:17 PM

Please keep 'em coming (the photos, not the people). I'll be there sometime this month and I"m bringing a rake and wheelbarrow.

Hey...Burros Beach is popular, too!

Pompano - 4-4-2007 at 11:41 AM

Somehow, in all the commotion and traffic, I managed to overlook Burros Beach this Easter.

The Tecate tent is going up as you read this.....

Almost wall to wall beachfront house palapas these days...mostly rentals, I think, but a few leased permanents.

There seems to be some camper room left on both ends and a small area in the middle which is susceptible to tidal flooding.

Have fun and thanks for helping to keep Baja clean.

Thanks for the great pics of some of the beachs in the area. My wife and I are planning on beach camping in the Bahia Concepcion area next winter when we are retired. Your pics have helped us to decide that those beaches sure look like what we are looking for - especially when they are not too crowded! But we are sure used to camping side by side, just like it better when it is not packed in real tight. We are looking at mid to late Jan. 2009 for a couple of weeks at least. How is that for typical weather and crowds?
Cheers...John and Karen

Diver - 3-4-2008 at 08:39 PM

Probably averaging 70-75 during the day.
Maybe a few hotter days if you're lucky.
Count on some wind in the afternoons.
If it's anything like this year, the beaches will have plenty of room.

mcbockalds - 3-5-2008 at 08:58 AM

Thanks Diver...What is the best way to use the forum to ask specific quesions about beach dry camping at Bay of Concepcion? Should I ask the questions in a different part of the forum?

Natalie Ann - 3-5-2008 at 09:14 AM

mcbockalds - Although I'm not Diver.... if you check the forum listings you'll see there's one for Questions & Answers - as well as several other topics. That help?

Nena

Yes, please post a question or questions on the "question and answer" forum so as not to interfere with the original post. Lots of good answers here !
