The USGS is reporting that there were 2 earthquakes in the SOC about 70 miles E NE of La Paz. A 4.6 and a 4.8 about 7pm and 10pm last night. Anyone
spill their drink?Bajajorge - 7-17-2007 at 11:13 AM
The site I have for earthquakes only goes as far south as Mexicali, and north to the Salton Sea. What's the site you use? Please advise.osoflojo - 7-17-2007 at 11:17 AM
Looks like Baja and Alta California just slipped a bit more towards Alaska!wornout - 7-17-2007 at 09:17 PM

So that is what the El Dorado Ranch Salesman meant by, 'In no time, you will feel like you are in California again' when he sold me the lot in San
Felipe. osoflojo - 7-18-2007 at 05:53 AM
Now reporting a third one Tuesday morning. A 3.8.Bajafun777 - 7-18-2007 at 10:11 PM
Now, these are not earthquakes but a bump in the road. In Imperial Valley everyone knows what earthquakes are and those as weak as those do not even
get the dogs excited anymore. Just another California day with a quake here and a quake there everywhere a quake quake. Mexico ought to be used to
them now especially around Mexico City, Que No??? bajafun777amir - 7-18-2007 at 10:21 PM
The whole Baja California Peninsula is moving away from the mainland at the rate of several inches per year. At some time in the future, Baja will be
an island. It doesn't happen all at once, but one little tremor at a time. Sometimes a big tremor, but otherwise, many little tremors here and there.
Thanks for posting this info, it "grounded" me again, and reminded me of the nature of the live forces in our local geology.

This doesnt have anything to do with that couple getting a divorce, does it?osoflojo - 7-20-2007 at 06:33 AM
Another 4.0 Thursday AM around 8am. Maybe Baja is trying to run away from the mainland instead of crawl.Cypress - 7-20-2007 at 05:32 PM
Baja is moving westward at about the same speed as the growth rate of a human hair.Wingnut - 7-21-2007 at 01:05 PM
Hey, more movement the better, I say. Won't have to blend the Margaritas if this keeps up. If Baja becomes an island we would have to rename it.
Anyone got any ideas?Bajame - 7-21-2007 at 11:44 PM
