Hah, made you look!

elizabeth - 4-27-2008 at 08:13 PM

Misplaced apostrophes make me a little crazy...but then, my daughter claims that there is a little obsessive compulsive personality disorder working there...the so-and-so see your u2u is just plain inexplicable!

DENNIS - 4-28-2008 at 06:17 AM

And another thing..... When posters, while discussing money matters in Mexico pertinent to expats and visitors, use the "$" without specifying dollars or pesos. U.S. newspapers are particularly guilty of this.
Anyway, that's all I have at the moment.

DENNIS - 4-28-2008 at 06:19 AM

Bernie....

GOL'LY is just as Gomer Pyle would have said the word.

capt. mike - 4-28-2008 at 07:56 AM

There are two behaviors that puzzle and irritate me about the way folks use Baja Nomad. Amazingly enough, it's not the rudeness, etc. that some members complain about.

1) "SO AND SO PLEASE READ MY U2U" posted in the public forum. Uhh, people-- there is a notice up in the right hand corner of every page when one has a U2U waiting. Plus, you can have the system email you immediately when you get a new U2U. Is it really necessary to clutter up the public forum with this sort of inept silliness?

2) The apostrophe. For tho'se who don't know when to u'se it, you'd be a lot better off ju'st omitting it completely from your writing. Chance's are you'd make fewer error's.

That's my rant for this year.

Thanks for listening-- Larry

Sorry: On the U2U, I truly did not know this irritated people. I have done this since I became a Nomad because I saw others do it and thought it was the norm. I will not be doing that again.

Seriously, how about a list of protocol and don't mess with us!

Thank you.

Capt. George - 4-28-2008 at 04:36 PM

Maybe it is the norm, and senor lencho is not?? at least in his ranting moments...

I would not put too much concern into this one..

do what ya gotta do....fuhgedaboudit!

Bruce R Leech - 4-28-2008 at 07:46 PM

Larr'y, chec'k you'r U2'U.

FYI

jeans - 4-28-2008 at 08:59 PM

The U2U notification in the upper right corner only shows if you are Logged In.

Many people are not aware of all the little features here including the auto-notification. I don't know how that little fish swims back & forth at the bottom of your posts! :?::?:

Paula - 4-28-2008 at 09:09 PM

Lencho

I did a search and came up blank, so for historical perspective on this annual event could you refresh our memories about preceding rants?

Paula - 4-28-2008 at 09:17 PM

I think we should declare April 27 as Nomad Rant day-- it has great potential for stress relief and entertainment.

I nominate Lencho as Master of Ceremonies:biggrin:

I think it only irritates Lencho... I have seen the "check your U2U" posts on occaision and wondered how any Nomad could miss seeing the notice in the top corner that you have a U2U. Then jeans made the observation that some Nomads come here logged off... and thus wouldn't see the U2U notice. Not sure why anyone would log off, unless they were on a borrowed computer... But, that's a rant for another day!

This was the first in what could become a long series. If I remember.

--Larry

You can rant several times a year, all you have to say is "Back by popular demand" :light:

Why do you want to log out??

Barry A. - 4-29-2008 at 09:20 AM

I NEVER log out-----------is this a problem?

barry

zforbes - 4-29-2008 at 09:40 AM

Sometimes I am logged off automatically...not sure how it happens...same with Off Topic. Also, how can I be logged on to a work computer while simultaneously logged off at the home computer. It's all very murky to the uninitiated.

fdt - 4-29-2008 at 11:33 AM

Has anyone notified lencho that his rant has evolved into a log out topic?

Only if you are on a public computer. I used a computer in Mulege and when I went to Baja Nomads, bingo, Diver was logged in.

Still wish I had created more fun with that one. Didnīt know him then, but now that I do, boy would I have some fun and it would all show under his name. :P

Have you ever seen a thread that stayed on topic ?
Many people have a very short attention span.

Hose A, sounds like the beginning of a rant of your own?:lol:

Let loose, compa!

Thread Going Off Topic = ADD

Gypsy Jan - 4-29-2008 at 01:48 PM
