capt. mike - 7-24-2008 at 04:03 PM
wow.....100 in the shade and about 80% humidity....why wouldn't they schedule that race during more palatable WX??
i'd love to go - but in august?? .......i don't theeeeeenk so.
does it have something to do with kids out of school or?
bajabird - 7-24-2008 at 04:10 PM
I dont know about the kids and such. Cant answer the why in august either. It certainly is hot and even hotter while we are in the car waiting for
the start with fire suit and helmut on, but once the car gets moving, there is no sense of heat. Once back in the stadium though, I know its hot and
I make my traditional bath in the corona beer cooler, then cool off the inners with as much beer as the ole body will hold.
It is a fun race though. Thats what I like about it.

Where does one go to find out more about this race?

Here is the map information for the race. I'll be trailering down from CA august 9.
The party / car inspection / race suit & helmet is at the marina saturday night (i think, if not friday night) race starts next morning, with
partying to follow at augies.
