I'm trying to Call Rosarito

jeans - 9-22-2008 at 10:13 AM

Is anyone else having trouble calling Rosarito? I've been trying to call mom since Friday and I keep getting a recording in Spanish. Occasionally TelCel will say the lines are busy, but this is different and been going on for a few days.

I just read all 6 of your posts and your handle seems to incorrect. All 6 of them are pure BS, and worthless.

Anybody take bets when Doug's going to pull the plug?

I just called someone in Rosarito on their local number, it worked fine.

Dear BS: you might want to take a look at this thread before you start making fun of Jeans. I still have the occasional nightmare.....

By the way, your handle is not cleaver, cute, interesting etc - just a troll handle.

Thank you for a relevant response! Mom has an AT&T phone on the old North American plan. The problem may lie with the AT&T to TelCel transition...now if I can find anyone who uses an AT&T phone that roams to Rosarito...I dread calling AT&T...they are usually so clueless.

Come on folks...quite feeding the trolls....

I still need to know if anyone else can get through AT&T & TelCel..maybe you know others with the North American plan in the border area.

Thank you...I have no reason to think anything is wrong other than the danged phone service is out. After 40 minutes on the phone with AT&T they could only tell me what I already knew. The calls are not going through to Telcel.

Just got back from 4 days Baja. I was able to call out using my AT&T iphone. People who tried to call me got a recording. Phone did not go to voicemail. I did recieve one text message this morning. I talked to tech this AM from Baja and they told me problem was with Telcel, said try again in 2-4 hours sorry for the inconvenience we are working on it blah blah blah. I was able to access the internet on my phone to check surfline and to settle bets with fact-check during the camp fire bull sessions. On the way home the wife tried to call at 1:30 PM no go - about one hour later I recieved phone calls once I got near Otay border. My phone said I was on Telcel network but?????????????

THANK YOU MATT! That's exactly what happens..recording, no voice mail. I talked to AT&T international roaming this afternoon and they were clueless....

Ok...It's not just us. Patience....Patience...and to think the first 22 years they lived there, they had no phone....

Do you want me to check on your mom or call me with her phone number and I'll try from here.I'm going to Rosarito in the morning I can go by. Let me know. I think you have my number if not check your u2u my phone number is there.k

It's working now

jeans - 9-23-2008 at 06:36 PM

Keri stopped by to tell her I'd been trying to call. She just thought nobody called her in the last 5 days, yet my sisters all got the recording. There was a glitch somewhere and now it's cleared up....thanks Keri.

And to address xolotl_tj, I was trying to call an AT&T phone with a 760 area code that is on The North American plan. That plan is no longer available for new service...too good of a deal. So it was AT&T's roaming to TelCel that was out. Although they were unable to verify that. Quien Sabe? No Le Hace
