I had a great friend and neighbor in Coyote Bay who was an avid ham radio guy for many, many years. I don't recall his call sign or numbers. His
name was Jake..a shortened Jacobson..and he broadcast every morning from his mountain home overlooking the bay below.
I remember once he was very excited about reaching Japan on a very low power. He utilized some of the old Baja telegraph wire into his antenna setup,
I believe. He would be remembered in ham radio circles, I imagine. He is certainly remembered by all of us who knew him as our old Baja friend,
Jake.

Pompano,
Thanks for the kind words about my departed cousin Bob "Jake" Jacobson. He was one who will never be forgotten by the early settlers of Coyote and
any and all he had contact--was one of a kind!
For many years he and I would regularly communicate via radio, he atop the hill in his Baja home me in my office in Anaheim Hills, California via a
a patch from other operators in California. Some times it was a simple "Hello how you doing?" other times it was a long conversation about our
family, Baja and the world.
