Now that I am a "full-time part time" Baja resident, my family and/or friends all seem to give me something that is Baja related.......
I got an autographed photo taken from Gemini 9 of the peninsula. Wow!
ckiefer - 12-26-2008 at 08:51 PM
Wow! Very cool....vandenberg - 12-26-2008 at 08:53 PM
Anew exercise bike.
Marie-Rose - 12-27-2008 at 07:07 AM
Damn... wish I could post pictures!! I have a new "used" washing machine It is still sitting in the VW van waiting for some muscles to help
get it moves and plumbed in. Hubby says he might leave it where it is and start a new business... "have washing machine, will travel". I don't
imagine the owners of Cerritos would mind if he set up in their parking lot!!!!!
We could set up a portable clothes line as well!
Anyway... can't wait to get it set up!lingililingili - 12-27-2008 at 07:35 AM

Ice and beer cooler is the bowl, and tank holds hard liquer, glasses, opener and a few bar snacks.
At least that is how my model is laid out.vandenberg - 12-27-2008 at 08:48 AM
And how about this gadget, in case you want to show your newly aquired DVD'd to your friends more than once.

Baja related gifts
Loretana - 12-28-2008 at 02:28 PM
Excuse Me!!
I was hoping to inspire my "compas" on this board with the beautiful Gene Cernan photo of Baja from space.
It sure went in the toilet fast........Sharksbaja - 12-28-2008 at 02:46 PM
Welcome to Nomads! No one is exempt from hijacking! Posting gifts is, well, kinda personal to many. You know, socks, undies, belts and the like. I
like your gift but socks are really boring to look at.
Oh what the hell! Original Baja cave art afoot!!:

You've got class!
Loretana...that's a nice Baja-related satellite photo gift.
Pompano - 12-28-2008 at 04:27 PM
My lab, Cheyenne, sends her congratulations and wishes you a Happy New Year.
She also wants to get in on this and show you her own Christmas gifts. (she's a bit of a Nomad ham and has posted this before, you know..)
Her good stuff:
and perhaps not so good stuff:

Pomp, how'd you teach that lab to read. I taught mine to whisper but it still sounds like "woof"Pompano - 12-28-2008 at 05:09 PM
Shark, you got it wrong. She taught ME to reed..
..now whir werking on speling. Labs are just that much smarter, I suppose.
She is also tutoring a new buddy..
Baja related gifts
Loretana - 12-28-2008 at 06:22 PM
Sr. Pompano.......
My Lab Chazz would like to meet Cheyenne for Navidad....she is definately his kind of Babe. He LOVES to go hunting!
He lives in Loreto, and works the beach on the North end of town.....
and Sharksbaja, those sure look like Indigenous Baja Cave Paintings on your calcetines (I love those!!) to me.
Loretana..
Pompano - 12-28-2008 at 06:40 PM
Cheyenne took a look at Chazz's picture and bolted out the door. Last seen heading for Loreto. The hussy.
Let me know when she gets there and I will send her bed.
.
Your Chazz is good looking lab and I assume a good retriever.
Cheyenne has been a great hunter since she first went goose hunting with me in Saskatchewan at age 4 months. She's had the time since and has me
well-trained now.
.
.
I still remember those good first days of puppyhood.
Here's some times...

Baja Christmas gift
Pompano - 12-28-2008 at 09:40 PM
My best Christmas gift was having a good conversation and Christmas dinner at the Serinadad Hotel in Mulege.
Everyone knows the history of that Baja legend...a haven for Baja pilots and road travelers for many, many years.
I visited with the owner and an old friend, Don Johnson, whom I first met a lifetime ago. We sat and talked for a long time about events and people
we had met here at the Serinadad. We barely scratched the surface. We'll need many more sitdowns to sort out all those characters and good Baja
times.
As I sat there and shared memories with this unique Baja legend, I thought how lucky it was that I came to light here so long ago.
The rest of the evening was spent with the fine fellowship of my Coyote neighbors and a superb traditional Christmas buffet.
Anyway..that was a special Baja Christmas gift for me.
Pompano....
Loretana - 12-28-2008 at 10:09 PM
Sweet!!
Chazz is waiting by the front gate, and he has a king size sleeping pad, so no worries. Cheyenne is welcome anytime, we just really like hussies down
here.
And, yes, this thread has gone to the dogs!!shari - 12-29-2008 at 09:54 AM
We had a wonderful christmas with tiomiguel et al...timo, barbareno, zoe, gaffman and painterlady, redmesas, manolo y minnie, and juan's
family...turkey, lobster, paralysers y mucho tequila para bailar.
My favorite gifts were some groovy Bole sunglasses and my mama sent us all these really cool caps with tiny LED's embedded in the bill that work as a
flashlight for stumbling home after all the holiday parties...excellent baja regalo....and lovely company not to mention the dancing and singsong.
Shari

Que es una paralyser? Algo para beber? Darnos su receta, por favor.shari - 12-29-2008 at 10:20 AM
I just got another present from Sirenitas novio who arrived to bartend the New Years Bash.....
Paralizers are Barbarenas area of expertise and the cause of some great dancing...vodka, kahlua, milk, coke, ice and shake your booty!!
The Gull - 12-29-2008 at 11:57 AM
Sounds like a way to get to projectile vomiting.Timo1 - 12-29-2008 at 02:51 PM

Black hot sauce
Sharksbaja - 12-29-2008 at 03:00 PM
Gift. Tacos anyone?
baitcast - 12-30-2008 at 05:54 AM
Ms Baitcast and her XMAS gift, his name is Nelson.
Lord, nice Nelson!
Pompano - 12-30-2008 at 06:56 AM
baitcast, your new Nelson's a great looking dachshund. Short-hair, looks like. Is he a standard, miniature, or kaninchen?
We had 2 dachshunds in our menagerie when I was a kid..those characters were fearless and merrily chased our larger dogs and even bulls...barking like
they were wolfhounds. Good watchdogs, though...I imagine the coyotes hated them.
Get used to him digging holes in your garden and yard...
and maybe you will eventually race him in the Weiner Nationals!
Nice Xmas gift!baitcast - 12-30-2008 at 09:00 AM
Hi Pomp,he,s a miniature,he,s my fifth one, great dogs, when I lived up north the damn coyote,s got one,his name was Norman and then was Max,Calvin,Levi
and now Nelson
Rob
They hold the weiner nationals in northern Ida. at a gray-hound track, was always going to race Levi but he didn,t like the training much.

They like to be in control
longlegsinlapaz - 12-30-2008 at 11:23 AM
Somehow the covered wagon seems out of place for that time frame, and it looks like cows are hitched to the front of the wagon. I've heard of teams
of oxen, but never cows; they're supposed to be hitched to the back of the wagon churning butter!Sharksbaja - 12-30-2008 at 01:08 PM

The really strange thing was when we opened the sealed box, it was a hot air balloon puzzle instead.
With Chinese/English instructions.Sharksbaja - 12-31-2008 at 02:59 PM
Who would need instructions for a puzzle in any language?
Instructions; Take a piece of the puzzle and try to get it to fit one or more of the other similar but different pieces. If it doesn't fit anywhere
within two minutes throw the piece back in the box and put the box back in the cabinet. Puzzle completed!Sallysouth - 1-1-2009 at 07:38 PM
