also I have no reliable USA address that they could have mailed the new modem to anyway. (thanks to the person who offered to bring it down though)
hey, why mess with something that works in exchange for a free latest and greatest???
you guessed it...because exactly 10 days after the expiration date for ordering the upgrade...I can no longer connect. I suspect Hughes may simply
have, oops, cut off the old modems. or some such. my choices are few...find someone with a Satellite phone and go through trying to get customer
support, or get someone with a cell phone and a vhf somewhere they can get cell reception (this would involve a dinghy and three way to customer
service with my sitting beside a vhf trying to follow relayed messages if all the stars are aligned), OR, behind door number three, cross my fingers
and hope that my problem will be solved by a local entrepaneur who is planning cell/phone/internet service for my village via some telmex scheme I
cannot even begin to comprehend. I'm going for number three I think. I may have a satellite internet system for sale this fall if anyone is
