small swell, staying close to OB....

Mi chiva no sirve. Tengo que arreglarla, hermano.

I'd love to go - I haven't been there yet. But, my Jeeps' control arms are trashed...I suspect the drive from Bahia de los Angeles to Bahia San Francisquito to El Arco were the cause. I'm going to be working on my Jeep to get her Baja-ready.

$900 for a complete Baja-style shake down at the local repair facility. At least, in Baja you get great prices and immediate service w/a fish-taco "outlet" on the corner of the street.

I have never been to Laguna Hansen, although I want to go there someday.

Yo pague cuatrocientos por unos partes que deberian que costarsen cien dolaritos. Estoy guardando mi plata (Pesos) por un viaje mas enseguida del verano. Pero, saque fotos por estos virgines.jaja:lol:

Ken Cooke - 6-28-2009 at 02:42 PM

No falto mucho tiempo para arreglar los brazos de control. Mi tortuga no puede andar muy rapida por las lomas tampoko, hermano. Entonces, no se.

Ever been there in midsummer?

Dave - 6-28-2009 at 03:25 PM

Cattle graze and water at Hanson. Fresh turds all over. Flies are unbearable. Don't camp anywhere near the water. Go back up in the boulders.

And bring me a big sack of pine cones, please.

The place is at it's best in winter with a dusting of snow on the ground, water in the lake and no bugs.
Do they still rent the rustic cabins?

Another thing.........It's a noisy, crowded place to be around a Mexican holiday. Maybe Fourth Of July as well.

[Edited on 6-29-2009 by DENNIS]

Yes

BajaRob - 6-29-2009 at 09:23 AM

on the cabins. We stayed in one of the two 5 or six years ago. Rustic is a stretch. Now there are several for rent. We tent camped last month there and did not check on rental rates. Campground rates were low.

Thanks, Rob.....It's been a while since I went up there. Last time, there were a bunch of free-range cattle wandering all over the place and, as we were told, not at all friendly. Probably a good place to break into bullfighting.

Da nada

BajaRob - 6-29-2009 at 10:16 AM

One caveat re the cabins. When we crossed the dry lake bed to check them out, we observed hundreds of mosquitos near the cabins. the small body of water there is a stagnant breeding ground for them.

The Jeep is stuck in the garage

Mick,

Thanks for your invitation! I went to 4WheelParts today and ordered control arm bushings. They won't arrive for another week. This year's Baja Grande obliterated the original set to the point that the rear axle shifts due to play in the links. No Good. I'll let you know when the Jeep is back in running condition, though.

BAJACAT - 6-29-2009 at 05:45 PM

Cabins have hot water now, they where improve and updated, the cattle still rooms free throught out the Laguna, I have never have problem, and the noise, doesn't botter me, i camp as far as possible...
