Just a note. The 619 phone listed on the website is a cell phone that Carmen admittedly doesn't always carry. Use the Mexico number, or better yet, e-mail Carmen. She generally responds within a matter of hours and you will have a printable copy of your confirmation. Jardines is so popular, and has so few rooms, it's just about mandatory to reserve ahead, even in this down economy. Also, as great as the restaurant is, they are not open for breakfast. However, the family operates a restaurant in town that is open for breakfast and lunch. It's called Viejo San Quintin. Excellent food also. It's about two traffic lights North on highway one, next to the hospital. It's set back from the highway and very easy to miss if you are traveling Southbound.

Have they closed for breakfast? We stayed there in July and they were open for breakfast next door. The restuarant is closed on Mondays. On a Monday Carmen recommended the "EL Faro" restuarant about a mile south of the Jardine's turn-off. It was terrrific! I also recommend the "Parcela 12", at KM16 south of San Quintin, for a real Baja experience.

Frankly, I don't know, from what you are posting. We stayed there in late June and the restaraunt was not open for breakfast. That's what I can post. I don't know what the business situation or family politics are. Perhaps they now run the restaurant to which you refer. But I dunno.

Just hope they get more rooms done soon. Besides rally nice rooms, and great gardens, it is by FAR the best run hotel we have found in the state of Baja. It really works for the owners to be there.

Hope to hear from Ladydi after she stays there!

They don't do breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel. Everybody goes to their restaurant in town - Viejo San Quintin. Guillermo and Carmen are the nicest hosts south of Ensenada if you don't want to make the drive all the way to El Rosario.

Is it no wonder the place is a tough ticket? Nomads fighting for reservations!
