Most likely more to this than meets the eye...

JESSE - 1-7-2010 at 07:59 PM

One of the "kids" family was involved in the drug trade.

SDRonni - 1-7-2010 at 08:04 PM

But why the children? I actually think I know the answer to the question, but it just makes me so, so sick and sad...........and angry.........:(

noproblemo2 - 1-7-2010 at 08:11 PM

Same as the heir saga probably

tripledigitken - 1-7-2010 at 08:31 PM

AK-47, 35 bullets, close or identical number shot at the student earlier in the week who also was killed. Horrible.

Woooosh - 1-7-2010 at 11:32 PM

Deuteronomy 24:16 - "Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin."

JESSE - 1-7-2010 at 11:46 PM

Kid had a gun when killed.

Which kid?

postholedigger - 1-8-2010 at 01:42 AM

Wasn't there a "you don't go after their families" understanding back in the day...?

Mexicorn - 1-8-2010 at 06:34 AM

This is madness!

wilderone - 1-8-2010 at 08:58 AM

Another level of the intensity of this cartel war. If one cared about the safety of his family, he/she should not get involved in the drug trade. Is anyone of these drug cartel people happy? Is it worth it? I'd rather live in a thatch roofed hut in Guatamala and watch the sunset in peace than live the kind of life they've created for themselves. They created their own hell and they can change things if they want to.

I think the underlying problem is how wealth is attained in Mexico. No family becomes uber-rich in Mexico and stays totally "clean" on all levels. It's just not possible. If not the narcos, it's the unions and politicians with their hands constantly out. The financial corruption became institutionalized.

This is really all about money, corruption, power and jealousy- who has it, how they got and and how hard they will fight to keep it. Just like every war. isn't it?

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/jan/07/mexican-right...

"Three of their classmates at La Mesa high school told The Associated Press Thursday at least one of the victims was a known drug dealer who frequently missed classes and sometimes peddled narcotics at or near the school. The students asked not to be identified for fear of reprisal. "

Bajahowodd - 1-8-2010 at 12:16 PM

Mexico is far from alone in having a deep-rooted and historic culture of corruption. The epidemic of guns, especially assault-style weapons is a far greater problem. Corruption, as a part of life long before AK-47s came along.

Dead teenagers will stop when:
1) teenagers stop peddling dope;
2) when all the narcos are dead; or
3) when Americans stop abusing third world countries by making them slaves to American illegal drug consumption.

Meanwhile, stay indoors.

Waddle with pigs...Smell like pig s**t.

Good riddance.

DENNIS - 1-8-2010 at 01:22 PM

Individuals in the cartels should be allowed tax deductions for every one of their own they do away with.
These are acts of humanity of the highest nature.

fishbuck - 1-8-2010 at 01:26 PM

Yeah they can deduct the cost of the ammo like a medical expense.

... and he passed back and forth across the border to school and back without carrying any drugs or drug money? Not likely. Looks like he missed his "cash drop" in TJ a few times too many and this was a message to all the younger dealers not to rip off their narco-bosses.

Offer and acceptance

Is there's no need in assuming guilt or innocence. God will sort it out.

No harm, no foul.

Es Verdad!

Considering that Calderon cannot run for re-election, and the apparent growing strength of the leftists, it probably will happen. They won't care about US government complaints, so long as Drugs, Inc. can make a fortune selling.

I knew that!

If/when it comes to this...

I'd expect the U.S. government will do more than just complain.

They pretty much have their hands full. Mexico is way down the actionable list, if on any list at all.

Mexico hasn't come up with a plan to ask for help with yet and no one proven credible, powerful or sustainable to lead.
