Bahia Conception

BobM - 1-30-2010 at 08:43 AM

We are leaving cold Canada for Bahia Concepion, our first trip that far south. Which beachs are best for camping, we are pulling a 5th wheel about 27 feet long. Can't wait to get back to Baja.

mulegemichael - 1-30-2010 at 08:56 AM

playa requeson is our favorite...just south of buenaventura...gorgeous!

roundtuit - 1-30-2010 at 09:10 AM

Playa Requeson was quite crowded on the 26th of Jan. My vote is Santispac, more beach closer to town, and even has a watering hole. ( Ana's ):lol:

bkbend - 1-30-2010 at 10:28 AM

I've stayed at several, all good for different reasons, but some may be better than others for your 5th wheel access. If you are staying for a while, pick one like Santispac for a night, unhook and spend the next morning checking out the others to see if you want to move.

Bahia CONCEPCION :light:

Anyway, El Requeson my be hard to get a big fifth wheel into... Santisapac is easy, the first beach next to the highway south of Mulege, has Ana's restaurant... but is noisy from trucks using their jake brakes.

BAJACAT - 1-30-2010 at 01:30 PM

WHAT about El Coyote

roundtuit - 1-30-2010 at 02:34 PM

Looked Quite full also at the south end. There is always Pompano's front yard, lutefish for breakfast Rite Roger??:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

After you arrive and are in the mood to explore some come out to Punta Chivato. There are whispers that the concession holder is going to really do some improvements.

I count 3 - 5th wheels, 3 - RV's, a pick-up camper and 3 - trailers.
The red truck and trailer is us !!

FYI; 5th wheels are easier to get into places like this than most trailers or RVs.
They have more ground clearance at the rear end.

And that was only 2 years ago !! :o

Santipac for sure. Easy in, easy out. Ana's. Close to town for ice, beer, food, ect. Unhook and explore. Punta Chivato is beautiful, check Russ's pictures! I'm sorry to hear that sand strip is gone at El Requeson. Neat place, just watch the tides!

Santispac is nice a roomy, but my vote goes for El Coyote, by the palm trees or parked along one of the little palapas there! The tamale lady will come by every morning.

Ah, there is just another opportunity for Bob and Susan to sell tamales at El Coyote!!

 Bob H

BAJACAT - 1-31-2010 at 09:15 AM

Why the TAMALES taste better in Baja, maybe is the air...

dtutko1 - 2-1-2010 at 07:31 AM

As of 2 weeks ago "the tamale man" visited Coyote everyday and the the Mexican blankets and other goods are "almost free" Plus lots of good people and even a library.

What is the average seasonal rate for the RV places on the Bahia Conception?
or is it just by the day? Hoping to be there in Oct.
ThX

willyAirstream - 2-4-2010 at 10:01 AM

Anyone?
The sites I have looked show rates that are not current.
Thanks

mulegemichael - 2-4-2010 at 12:05 PM

i have not heard of seasonal rates; only daily....varies from 50-70 pesos per day....correct me if i'm wrong..

David K - 2-4-2010 at 12:16 PM

That's what we paid for a night at Playa La Perla... about $5 US.

Not bad for the location! The loud music from the fisherman that began before sunrise was not appreciated, however!

willyAirstream - 2-5-2010 at 05:28 PM

Thanks guys! Sounds great. I can picture myself there already.
