don't do it, man. it is snoozeville town. it's blue hair snow bird hang out in winter, and uninhabitable in summer.
watch out when on river -- 9 out of 10 boaters are drunk or otherwise unqualified to drive watercraft!

capt. mike - 7-8-2010 at 08:24 AM

don't think so.
this is a social networking site too.
and i mentioned trips to baja.

havasu as a new base makes:
handy for californios to hook up to fly, and
very close and convenient for calexico, San felipe and San quintin areas.

Skeet/Loreto - 7-8-2010 at 08:24 AM

Mike: I am sorry to hear that you are moving to Lake Havasu!

That , to me , is the worse move Virginia and I made when we came back from Loreto. Ended up making some Money but Mike it is loaded woth Week end LA Trash driving 1/2 Million dollar Boats, making Noise, making Porn Movies on the Sanspit, walking around Nude in the Grocery Stores, taking their Bras off at the London Bridge.

We only stayed a year and a Half, I will never go back. and on top of all of that it gets to 134 Degrees in the Summer.

Good Luckl You will need it!

fishabductor - 7-8-2010 at 08:53 AM

Mike..

How much for a flight around the sandspit, during the filming of the pornos? Maybe it'd be a good time to practice the water landings.

but as a firm capitalist i have to look beyond those annoyances and march fully towards profits to feed my cravings for material goods.:lol::lol:

Bob and Susan - 7-8-2010 at 10:03 AM

the "water rats" around the bridge are amazing...parrrttteee

the water truns green in the summer its so hot:o:o

sometimes they close the lake because the water is bad
and the boats go north...

i've never seen a plane land on the water there though

absoloutly the BEST 4th of july show anywhere if you're on the water

Skeet/Loreto - 7-8-2010 at 10:07 AM

IOf you have a Desire to observe the various sizes and shapes of BOOBs then go down to the Bridge on July 4th and you will be amazed!!!

capt. mike - 7-8-2010 at 10:23 AM

aw.... missed the 4th....:(
hey - i ain't going till after labor day holiday and that's only if the permits are in hand.:smug:

yes they DO land planes on the lake and river. been watching it the past several months during trips there.
i am FIRMLY esconsed in my mui air conditioned PHX office for the summer.:light:

mike

I had a good friend with a home there for many years and spent much time in Havasu. I always enjoyed the town and the lake, and the airport/FBO was always functional and hospitable.

backninedan - 7-8-2010 at 11:11 AM

One big plus for Havasu is that Skeet won't be there. Enjoy the sanity and correct spelling..

BillP - 7-8-2010 at 11:31 AM

If I'm still here, I'll meet ya at Mudsharks for a beer.

I like it here, just don't go near the water on weekends. I see nothing wrong with bikini clad supermarket patrons.

In the winter, the snow birds take over, they remember what manners are.

There's also a quality smallmouth fishery, best in winter, fish averaging over 3lbs.

Crime rate is very low.

Great little carniceria here now for all your mexican style meats.

Did I mention bikini clad store patrons?

KAT54 - 7-8-2010 at 11:39 AM

Is Lake Havasu in Baja?

goat, you do get around... and on this one.. no disagreement..

Bajatripper - 7-8-2010 at 12:06 PM

Another thing Lake Havasu has going for it (other than those bridge and supermarket activities) is some of the cheapest housing going. One can find houses for under $100,000, which--in spite of the economic crisis--is saying something in this day and age. And what Baja Lover isn't enchanted by desert? Of course, there is that river to contend with.

Skeet/Loreto - 7-8-2010 at 12:36 PM

Mike; Just think you will be close to a Golf Course where those crazy Nuts like Nine go out and chase a little White Ball around!!
Can you beleive it. Hitting a little White Ball then running after it and hitting it again!!
Sure takes Brains for that kind of Game.

Mike; Things were going good the year and a Half I was there. Had a House Built up on the Ridge, bought some vacant Lots, sold the House, made $75,000, sold the lots made another $40,000.. And I think it would be a good time right now to buy for the Future especially if the Rabble of LA start fighting and more people will start looking to get out .

Skeet

ok - you are on

JonK - 7-8-2010 at 08:53 PM

I live in Havasu full time and have a house in PV.
It would be great to all meet for a few beers and check out
the locals. Love the heat,But its a dry heat.

Summer Heat

MrBillM - 7-8-2010 at 09:35 PM

I've never found the heat a big deal, but I've lived in the desert, U.S. and Baja, for forty years.

Having spent more than a few Summer holidays on the river and Havasu, mostly 4th of July, one principal difference from the Sea of Cortez is that the water is COOL and refreshing.

you got that right Bill

the river is a huge amenity and if you are on and in the water the heat is ok.
out of the water - shade misters and AC/inside a bar.

so JonK send me your contact info and i'll give you a shout with BillP.
PV = Puerto Vallarta? or? when are you there?

Brandi - 7-9-2010 at 03:43 PM

I have a house there Mike! Renter just moved out so I'll be visiting now...off to Baja tomorrow but have Havasu trips in the works......September and October my favorite months there!

Bajahowodd - 7-9-2010 at 03:58 PM

Mr. Bile has is right, in that if you're lucky enough to be able to play, the river water is surprisingly refreshing. In fact, as was noted about housing price affordability, the entire area from Kingman to the East, through Laughlin and North, is a place where soon to be retirees with somewhat limited resources, should really consider.

JonK - 7-9-2010 at 04:13 PM

Its Punta Chivato. On the good side of the Cortez

BajaWarrior - 7-9-2010 at 04:32 PM

Can't beat the sunsets. We have three trips planned every three weeks this summer at Lake Havasu but stay at the south end at Havasu Springs RV Resort next to Parker Dam. We leave our RV there for the summer which makes for easy traveling.

The lake is nice as long as it's not a Holiday Weekend.
