$120000 - COMFORTABLE AND SECURE VILLA COMPLEX IN MULEGE

A brick built prestige home in Loma Azul (Blue Ridge) about 3 miles east of Mulege town centre. Loma Azul sits on a hill overlooking the harbour, so is well above the river flood zone and is less affected by insects.

The property comprises a main building with two external fully self contained apartments and can comfortably sleep up to 10 persons. Ideal for large family visits or the apartments could be used to give rental income.

All buildings are solidly site built of cement, brick and local stone and have mains water and electricity. Telephone and high speed DSL InterNet are available. The house benefits from a major electrical refit completed by a professional company.

The house, garden and apartments are contained inside 10ft high security wall with embedded glass on top. Double steel plate entrance gates on to driveway give maximum security and privacy.

That is a deal!!! Is it the one with the art work on the security wall?

vandenberg - 9-17-2010 at 10:04 AM

Must have been built by one of JR's chicken coop groupers .:biggrin:

Does it have gun towers ?:?::P:biggrin:

The walls are white and there are two lights either side of the gate.

It is probably closer to one mile east of center of town. Just a minor point, but not a point of contention.

cessna821 - 9-18-2010 at 02:20 AM

Yes, probably nearer 1 than 3 miles. It just seems like three miles when you are walking it, although it may be that it takes longer because of all the interesting people you meet and chat to on the way!

very nice home.

Yeah, and then you just may have to walk to Pancho Villas or El Patron. If not three miles, it will surely take three hours!:light::bounce:

Bob H - 2-21-2012 at 05:54 PM

I tried to pull up the link, doesn't work

tripledigitken - 2-21-2012 at 06:07 PM

Me too!

Udo - 2-21-2012 at 06:19 PM

The link will not work, y'all.
You have to head to craigslist/baja, then type in Mulege, and it pops up.

I'm going to ask for some additional information from the listing agent.

...with lots of built-in comforts...and you're certainly 'above' the flood zone, up there on the top of the hill...

I've spent lots of time in Mulege...it's still a bit unsettling to see a place with 10ft high, glass embedded security walls and bars on the the windows...

cessna821 - 2-22-2012 at 05:31 PM

Yes, the house is very comfortable, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The wood fire helps of course and provides cosy evenings.

The only room that has bars on the windows is the upstairs strong room, and in the 12 years that we have lived here we have experienced nothing other than cordial friendship from within the village.

When we bought the house in 2000 I was advised that the previous owner had worked for the Federales, and that this explained the high wall and the glass lined top as a security system. Baja's finest no doubt come with their own paranoia, but from our point of view the wall merely adds privacy.
