Very overcast here
Calm as can be.

Hmmm....this looks like it may be the first real storm we might get this season. Yesterday's swim told me that the shore temps were a bit cooler than
last week...probably a bit below 70 degrees...I bet the water temps on the other side are in the mid 80's....big difference.

Believe me, I know what you're talking about. We got our share here in Nopolo, although not as bad as Marty.maspacifico - 9-20-2010 at 10:26 AM
It's been raining pretty steadily since about 9 this morning. East Cape. No rain gauge, but the filthometer on the car says about 1/4 inch. Enough to
get the layer of dirt wet, but not enough to wash it off. Very attractive if it stops now. This isn't the storm the weather service is tracking.

We had a pretty heavy rain late yesterday afternoon and some nice gentle showers over night.bajajudy - 9-21-2010 at 07:11 AM
Been raining off and on since last night...still no wind to speak of.
SWEET!vandenberg - 9-21-2010 at 07:36 AM
Georgette is a small storm with relative minor winds. Appr. 39 mph. A mere breeze. It's the rain we need and there really is not much cloud cover to
go with this storm.
But.....if I'm wrong and there is a deluge, I hope it will not aim for Mulege, like has happened the last few years.

thanks for the onsite report Judy...it would be great to keep them coming for others who live further north to moniter...there are some rather nervous
folks in the Mulege, Chivato area keeping a close eye on this.
Seems like Georgette is very well behaved so far...making the cows happy.bajajudy - 9-21-2010 at 09:51 AM
The wind pushed our guanabana tree over which in turn tipped over our chicken cage. But nothing over 20, I would say. The rain has subsided and it

9AM MDT TROPICAL STORM GEORGETTE MOVING NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD TOWARDS CABO SAN LUCAS...
THE GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO HAS ISSUED A TROPICAL STORM WARNING FOR SOUTHERN BAJA CALIFORNIA FROM AGUA BLANCA SOUTHWARD TO CABO SAN LUCAS ON THE WEST
COAST...AND FROM BUENAVISTA SOUTHWARD TO CABO SAN LUCAS ON THE EAST COAST.
Tuesday, September 21, 2010 9:39 AM Tropical Storm Georgette is moving quickly northward about 30 miles south of Cabo San Lucas and is expected to
make landfall very close to Los Cabos in a matter of hours. TS Georgette is just barely a Tropical Storm and is not forecast to strengthen
significantly before making landfall. Heavy rains and strong winds are to be expected across much of the tip of the baja peninsula through the day
today.
At 9AM Tropical Storm Georgette located near 22.5N 109.9W and is currently moving 335° at 8kts. Central barometric pressure is estimated at 1001Mb and
winds are 35kts with gusts to 45kts, making Georgette just barely a tropical storm. Tropical storm force winds extend out 45 miles in all but the SW
quadrant of this storm.
TS Georgette is forecast to make landfall this morning between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos and move north across the peninsula just west of La
Paz. Once over land the system is expected to lose its punch rapidly and be reduced to a tropical depression by late today. Since Georgette is over
marginally warm waters no significant strengthening is expected before making landfall.
By late this evening Georgette should be reduced to a tropical depression and be located
Tropical Storm Georgette formed on the morning of September 21 from an area of disturbed weather that had moved WNW from mainland Mexico.
At 7AM the port captains of Cabo San Lucas and La Paz have officially closed the ports.
The next update to this information will follow the 12PM release from the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.oxxo - 9-21-2010 at 11:26 AM
This morning, I recorded wind gusts to 35 mph in San Jose. Steady winds were 25 mph. I expect we got 3 to 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. At
this time the storm appears to be breaking up in the east. At 12:30pm, winds are light and the ocean is starting to lay down.
Lots of local flooding in the San Lucas area. Not sure about San Jose.bajajudy - 9-21-2010 at 12:18 PM
Just got dark again and it looks as if we will get some more rain.
We have not seen the wind that OXXO did. It is dead calm right now.
The seas here are still white capped and angry looking.Eli - 9-21-2010 at 12:24 PM
ah Judy, every year you are my favorite weather reporter. THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!oxxo - 9-21-2010 at 02:36 PM
Tues. 3:30pm
After a brief respite around noon, the wind has clocked 180 degrees form ESE to WNW. Average wind speed on my anemometer is 25 to 30mph this
afternoon. Rain has been lighter this afternoon than this morning
Seas are almost flat compared to this morning because of the change in wind direction. Temperatures are in the mid to high 80's.
I live about 10 miles from Judy. Judy I bet you are happy with the new bridge! I drove on it for the first time last Sunday. What a difference! Is
that a new PEMEX going up next door to you?bajajudy - 9-21-2010 at 03:18 PM
10 miles can definitely make a difference. It has never gotten over 75 on my porch today. The seas are still angry. Looks like we are getting ready
to get some more rain.
OXXO-shame on you for not stopping in.
