Just got back from La Paz and there are several places where major bridge construction is underway. Between Mulege and Santa Rosalia there are several
bridges being built and these are not small projects but very big ones covering long distances. A paved road is along side for the traveler to drive
on. Also a very long section between Santa Rosalia and San Ignacio. The bridge just outside El Rosario construction continues, to be completed soon, I
think. All of these are major projects and looks like they would withstand a 100 year flood.
Also the hwy continues to be widened and improved in many places including north of Uruapan toward Maneadero and hwy 3 toward Tecate. There is about 8
or 9 miles maybe more paved leaving San Ignacio toward the Lagoon. Won't be long before you can drive a family car down to watch the whales. I found
it interesting that the hwy to San Juanico is far to the west of La Purisima. It will connect south of La Purisima.
10 miles south of San Juanico the 1000 course uses the old hwy to La Purisima.
