Spent time with Coco this afternoon in GN. He is doing well but the hospital messed up on his surgery which was to be on Nov 23, they have rescheduled
it to Dec. 13th. He is headed home tomorrow morning and will return on the 12th. He say to say HO to everyone.mcfez - 12-1-2010 at 06:30 PM

Wow... seriously? http://www.vivabaja.com/coco is a little bit about his corner. Located between Gonzaga Bay and Laguna Chapala, 13 miles from Hwy. 1.
Been there since the 1990's, previously at Cielito Lindo. A place to get a beer or soda... Lost one leg and recently, the other. Coco is a big fan of
the off roaders and Coco's Corner has become a regular Baja 1000 checkpoint.
He draws a cartoon of your visit in the log book after you leave... and you can see it on your next visit.

Here's what I wrote about the visit:
"Part 4—Alfonsina’s to Bahia de Los Angeles
It was good to be on the road again. The
afternoon scenery between Rancho Grande and
Coco’s Corner continued to be beautiful and the
graded dirt road was good. We arrived at
Coco’s at about 2 pm and stopped to meet the
legendary Coco. There was one other car there,
a young Mexican couple from Tijuana. Coco
was well and at his charming best, clearly
inspired by the presence of the attractive young
woman. We did the standard tourist things, had
a Pacifico, bought a T-shirt, admired the
hanging panty collection, and signed the
beautiful guest book. Coco told us that
someone had stolen one volume of his guest
book. Hard to imagine that anyone would do
that. Then you see all the graffiti on the
rocks….who would do that? Obviously
somebody would. Sure hope he gets it back, it

Coco has to have a revision surgery on his left leg. He has an "adherent scar" which is partially attached to the bone. Every time he attempts to
wear a prosthesis, the pull on the skin tears and opens the scar. We attempted to have Coco contact my friend Dr. Alejandro Aguirre Chavez in La Paz
to have his revision done down there, but at our last clinic Alejandro said he had never been contacted by Coco, so I can only hope that the doctors
in GN do a good job on the revision. Speaking of the La Paz Rotarians clinic, we had a total of 11 volunteers at our last clinic. We delivered 25
new prostheses and as many braces. The orthoses (braces) were for both upper and lower extremities, and most of the kids came up from Los Cabos with
an Occupational Therapist, Gayle Edwards, who works with "Mobilize Mankind". All in all we saw about 80 patients, old and new, for repairs and

fromthe old posts, everyone got together and bought the wheelchair for Coco ? amazing. just wonderful. sure hope the surgery goes well.
