Would'nt you know it. First heavy clouded morning in Pescadero since we've been down, but nice and warm and the sounds of the waves crashing isn't
bad. At all.wessongroup - 12-10-2011 at 07:20 AM
dtutko1 ... nothing wrong with that word picture in my mind ... thanks...Hook - 12-10-2011 at 07:30 AM
It was about 75% complete when the moon set over here, so no totality for us, being a bit farther east.Barbareno - 12-10-2011 at 07:31 AM
Been watching since 4:30ish this morning up in BC Canada. Will be light out in about a half an hour. Pretty cool stuff.woody with a view - 12-10-2011 at 07:35 AM
i'm using a free program called Stellarium. now that it is too light to see the eclipse the moon is just half way below the horizon.

pretty cool from my bedroom window here in Loreto. I could peek out off and on from under the covers. there was just a little too much cloud cover
over the mountains just at full eclipse time though.mtgoat666 - 12-10-2011 at 07:41 AM
it was pretty cool

Ken.... DITTO! Very nice images!!!Trueheart - 12-10-2011 at 10:04 AM
Watched it this morn from 4:45 to 6:00 AM. Cool. And the best part is that the we didn't leave our king sized bed to see it ... the bay window in
our BR faces W/NW so it was framed. Just add binocs.Oggie - 12-10-2011 at 10:06 AM
I saw it in Carlsbad, It was pretty cool. I need to work on my long exposure skills, as my pictures didn't turn out well

We watched it at the local beach. There was a guy down at the shore who put on a Hawaiian style fire torch twirling exhibition during totality.
Barefoot and shirtless. I guess the heat helped a bit. Good times.David K - 12-10-2011 at 10:35 AM
Thanks gang... and Ken, I knew I could count on you to show it!astrobaja - 12-10-2011 at 10:45 AM
Another interesting moon related pic that a friend of mine from Toronto caught a while back. Jim Chung used a high speed camera to catch this event.
It only takes the ISS about a second and a half to cross the surface of the moon.
bufeo - 12-10-2011 at 10:47 AM
We had a grand view here on the Snake River Plain. An inversion layer of late had left a haze along the horizon and in the last minutes of the moon's
descent (figuratively speaking, of course) it was a vivid orange.

It was a bust down here on the south east cape. Clouds. But hey, it got me up for an extra early morning surf before the north wind filled in. Four
foot with an off shore breeze. Make lemonade!shari - 12-10-2011 at 05:39 PM
we watched it in the truck going to pick up an amigo at the bus depot in Vizcaino...started around quarter to six...sweet!
