Bank of America has a program called "safe send" specifically for transferring funds from a BOA account to the account holder in Mexico, or another
person designated by the account holder. There is no fee, although they may fudge a bit on the exchange rate. The maximum transfer is the equivilent
of $1,500 U.S. in pesos per transaction, with a $3,000 limit per month.
Funds are transmitted to designated offices in Mexico. In Loreto it's at the office where telephone bills are paid.
A BOA account holder must enroll in the program in person in the U. S. of A. and designate to whom funds may be sent.
Once enrolled in the program all that is required to effect a transfer is a telephone call to a BOA office.
Turnaround is pretty fast. I think you can get funds the same day if you call before 11:00 a.m. |
