shoulders) is in from Mexicali to San Felipe with just a 3 mile section of original Hwy. 5 beginning at La Ventana, heading south.
The military checkpoint did not inspect us going south or going north today... that's a first in recent history.
Gasoline was 11.05 pesos per liter for Magna (Regular) at San Felipe and 11.36 pesos per liter at Tecate (Border zone). However, using dollars, the
exchange rate at San Felipe was 11.5 pesos per dollar and in Tecate was 11.8 pesos per dollar... This made the price per gallon the same at both:
$3.64 dollars/ gallon. On the U.S. side of the border I passed stations with ranges fro $3.89 to $4.05.

We went to San Felipe last weekend. And we got all the way south to were the highway ends near Bahia San Luis Gonzaga. Beautiful scenic road. We loved

Oh now....that's a rarity! Good guys working that station....we always drop off water or/soda to them.
