BajaNomad

The Gyspsy's are coming to town!!!

Bajagypsy - 10-7-2013 at 12:17 PM

We will be departing our Saskatoon home at 6:00 am on Friday! Should be rolling into National City around 2:30 pm on Saturday!!! Hoping to be in Asuncion around 6:00 pm on Sunday!!!!

If you see a blue Ford truck, with Saskatchewan plates, pulling a huge trailer with a quad and a dirt bike on it, give us a wave hello! If you are in the Asuncion area, stop by and say hello!

I know this is way in advance, but I'm to excited to work today!

I will try to update this daily once we get on the road.

BajaLuna - 10-7-2013 at 12:22 PM

Have a great trip, Gypsy family!! How long will you be in BA?

Bajagypsy - 10-7-2013 at 12:23 PM

I have to be back to work by October 30, so we will need to leave Asuncion on October 27. :(

BajaLuna - 10-7-2013 at 12:30 PM

We might see you there! You will be ahead of us. We are leaving in a 1-1.5 weeks, just waiting for our first Granddaughter to be born any minute now, then we leave soon after that!

BajaRat - 10-7-2013 at 01:19 PM

Safe travels, have fun for us.

Yep, very ambitious

We just did Edmonton to Chula Vista via I-15
Lv Edmonton Fri @ 0630/ Av Helena, MT @ 1900 = 12.5 hours
Lv Helena Sat @ 0700 / Av Mesquite, NV @ 2000 (1900 pdt) = 13.0 hours
Lv Mesquite Sun @0730 / Av Chula Vista @ 1430 = 7.0 hours

Bajagypsy - 10-7-2013 at 03:52 PM

durrelllrobert we drive non stop so that is why we can do it the way we do, we each take turns driving, and wind up in national city, smelly, tired and cranky! We do get tho National City and spend the night, so we are nice and refreshed for our 5:00 am departure! This is the way we have always done it, it just works for us.

OK, your total driving time to National city is 31.5 hours and our cumulative driving time to Chula Vista is 32.5. My wife has a few extra potty stops.

durrelllrobert - 10-7-2013 at 04:10 PM

When I was only 16 my grand mother was very sick in Minnesota and I drove my mother from San Diego to Pipestone, MN non-stop in just a little under 40 hours and that was way before there were any interstates or freeways.

woody with a view - 10-7-2013 at 04:45 PM

we'll see you in the campo around the 18 or 19th, depending on the surf. we're gonna stop for a couple of days and chill out first. we'll bring a couple buckets of clams for the whole gang!

Nan&D - 10-7-2013 at 05:48 PM

Bajagypsy - 10-8-2013 at 05:44 AM

Mr. gypsy just looked at the weather, we are leaving at a good time. Lows for next week are in the minus range! It feels like we just got rid of winter, I'm not quite ready yet for winter again!

shari - 10-8-2013 at 06:50 AM

Safe travels. I think you will enjoy the road into BA....nice surprise for us and the kids last week. Wish we could meet you on Saturday but I'll be up in the mountains running. Cheers!

woody with a view - 10-9-2013 at 05:12 AM

shari - 10-9-2013 at 06:47 AM

don't worry Woody....there will be a few snow birds lurking around here for your amusement after New Years!

Timo1 - 10-9-2013 at 07:56 AM

We should still be around when you are there

motoged - 10-9-2013 at 09:16 AM

Bajagypsy - 10-10-2013 at 05:49 AM

One more sleep! Tonight mr. Gypsy and I will be burning the midnight oil! My son is 22 today, so after a family supper, we will be playing the pack the truck game called Tetris, to see if we can make everything fit!

BajaLuna - 10-11-2013 at 05:22 PM

Shari, we're actually excited about driving the new road, woohoo!

You all drive very carefully, and have a great trip down------it's such a long drive that I shutter a little. And of course report when you get there.

Barry

jimgrms - 10-12-2013 at 07:23 AM

Lots of envy here !have a good trip and have fun

shari - 10-12-2013 at 07:24 AM

gypsies have an uncanny skill at arriving in Asuncion when there is a full blown party going on...a good way to skip the road weary blues and just start dancing!
Campo Sirena will be engulfed in cumbia music as Juan's band is playing at a birthday party there....soooooo....I daresay they wont be reporting in till Monday:bounce:
just so nobody worries! blurry photos to follow....hahaha
