Canyon Tarisco from the south?

Canyon Tarisco access from Hwy3?
Based on GE examination combined with the INEGI topo I am reasonably sure I can bypass the locked gate at Choyera (Incorrectly spelled on the almanac as Choyall ). Anyway from K160 slate mine road used for the 2012 SF 250 cross country to Sante Fe (ab). However this point is in the canyon is south of the new ranch buildings near Sante Fe. So the question is the super gate between Sante Fe and the AG turn?

Here is the bypass: Leave slate rd via path 1 or path 2 and drive to “Digs RD”. Then follow the existing road to “RDX”. Take the right fork to “Rd Jct”. Bypass the new Rancho on the left and drive to “AG 2 Sante Fe Jct” Go right to the abandoned Arroyo Grande building and on to Arroyo Grande proper. Go left and head up Tarisco canyon to near hwy 3 about K 130.

Arroyo Grande travel

On March 22 2012 we were stopped in AG by heavy bushes and trees WE used saws and broke many branches . Then we hiked up a ways and decided it was to difficult and gave up and returned via La Ventura to San Felipe.
I guess we made a dent in the blockage because 56MM# made it thru in October of 2012. I guess another try is required.
Second thought. now that I have all new paint I probably will just skip it.

Hi Paul,

Can you make a GE map showing where you drove in Arroyo Grande, as in how far in from the La Ventana side? Thank you.

I hope 56MM# gets back on, it has been a long time since he said he was getting back tio us with a new report. Ken Cooke posted some photos in the other thread that 56MM# started: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=63075 but none show what I was asking for, and don't even look to bw in Arroyo Grande itself?

MY AG GPS track
I was creating the 250 course and drove Arrajal then went north on the east CODE track, then cross country, then down Arroyo Grande with a gps track that SCORE gave me. The goal was to decide if AG would be acceptable for racing. The result was to use Arrajal/Slate.
So what I have cobbled up is a composite of a La Ventana trip to the west and the AG trip. Missing is the graded road from the turn to the Ventana to the wells. I did not record the mileage, but an extra 5er would be recomended. You can see the real tracks of the east & west race tracks, and the turn from AG to/from the west race track WP 003 is where we started the cross country leg. What we found was many-many 2’ deep ditches for that leg.
The new highway has altered the exit to the graded road. It is heavily used by the mine for a haul road due to the mining activity on the west side of the mountains. The turn off the highway will be easy to find at k106.4. The multiple wells are now powered by electricity, but the diesels are still there. Be sure to drive to the wells then turn south. From the wells and beyond, all that sand going south is Arroyo Grande. It follows the power line as far as the south well. Slightly beyond the race turn east you may notice the steel cable, but it is mostly buried from flooding and sand deposits.
Notes:
WP’s 9, 7, 6, 5, & 1 are points on the graded road from my gps map and are real. 006 is where the graded road leaves/joins the pipe line. 001 is where the east race track intersects the graded road. As you can see my dead end WP is not correct as we did get a little further.
