I was pleasantly surprised when I looked up and saw these cute little guys this morning. It's the biggest clutch I've had here. 9 chicks in all. There
are a lot of predators around right now so I hope momma can hold on to at least a few.

Paulina,
My professor friend says they are the "Lophortyx californicus" or California Quail. We also have a large population of them here in Oregon.
and Russ, the photos are a Friday morning joy!! Muchisima gracias.bajabuddha - 6-27-2014 at 11:06 AM
Exactly. Ergo, I stand by my original post: El Nido in Loreto. And, may I suggest a half-order of gordoniz with a half- of Piernas de Rana, they
will accommodate. A fine Merlot or Cabernet from their cellars go well too. They stock only Reserve wines, a bottle costs almost (if not more) than
your entrée. Wonderfully delicious!vandenberg - 6-27-2014 at 12:32 PM

Nice groupings on the target, but a little off center.
Practice, practice, practice. Russ - 6-29-2014 at 05:55 AM

my C11 .177 handgun is quite busy these days fending off the birds trying to take a bite from every single peach on my tree. i just plunk the fence
and it scares them off!Feathers - 6-29-2014 at 07:40 AM

Here's sad up date 5 weeks after the first sighting if the big family.
Daddy's been pretty much working hie feathers off but just couldn't save the flock. Now he has a gimp leg and is visiting a couple times a day with
the last surviving chick.
